  • Publication number: 20070137381
Abstract: A tilt-telescopic steering column apparatus includes a steering shaft; a first supporting member rotatably supporting a lower shaft of steering shaft; a second supporting member rotatably supporting an upper shaft of steering wheel and movable in the axial direction; a first screw shaft disposed in substantially parallel with the steering shaft, and supported rotatably by one of the first supporting member and the second supporting member to be capable of being drivingly rotated; a first nut member screwed on the first screw shaft; a second screw shaft disposed in substantially parallel with the steering shaft and disposed to be coaxial with the first screw shaft; and a second nut member screwed on the second screw shaft, and fixed on the one of the first supporting member and the second supporting member. One end portion of the second screw shaft is rotatably supported by another of the first supporting member and the second supporting member to be capable of being drivingly rotated.

  • Publication number: 20070068310
Abstract: A steering column device includes a movable column jacket telescopically supported to a stationary column jacket, a tilt head supported to the movable column jacket so as to be capable of oscillating, a telescopic-lock unit for locking the movable column jacket, a tilt-lock unit for locking the tilt head, an operating lever supported to the tilt head so as to be capable of oscillating and a motion transmitting mechanism for transmitting an operation of the operating lever to the telescopic-lock unit and the tilt-lock unit. The motion transmitting mechanism has a direction-change link rotatably supported to the movable column jacket. Further, a position of a connect pin for connecting the change-direction link to the operating lever is substantially above an oscillation center shaft of the tilt head.

  • Patent number: 7025380
Abstract: A stationary jacket is fixed to a vehicle body and a sliding jacket is axially slidably received in the stationary jacket. A steering shaft includes a first shaft part which is axially movable together with the sliding jacket and connected to a steering wheel and a second shaft part which is rotatable together with the first shaft part while being suppressed from moving in an axial direction. An opening is formed in the stationary jacket. An electric drive unit is fixed to an outer side of the stationary jacket. The drive unit has a threaded output shaft. A nut block is operatively engaged with the threaded output shaft. A binding bracket extends between the sliding jacket and the nut block through the opening of the stationary jacket. The binding bracket includes a round gripping portion which is disposed on the sliding jacket and two gripping arms which put therebetween the nut block.

  • Publication number: 20040023746
Abstract: In a tilt adjustable steering column assembly for an automotive vehicle, a fixed bracket (8) fixed to a vehicle body supports a rotation center axle of a bell crank lever (22) (bell crank) to enable the rotation center axle (24) of the bell crank lever to swing with respect to the fixed bracket and an engagement portion (20) of the fixed bracket is formed in an elongated hole, the elongated hole being formed to coincide with a pivotal orbit of a tilt input axle about a tilt rotation center (10) of a jacket tubular member (4) (jacket tube).
