  • Publication number: 20230034032
Abstract: Image deterioration in an image sensor is inhibited. A solid-state imaging device includes: a pixel array that photoelectrically converts received light and contains pixels arranged in a two-dimensionally arrayed manner, the pixels outputting analog signals; a conversion part that converts the analog signals outputted from the pixels to digital data; a coding part that generates one sign bit or a plurality of sign bits as to the digital data; a storage part that stores the digital data and the sign bit or sign bits; a decoding part that decodes the sign bit or sign bits as to the digital data stored in the storage part; a determination part that determines, on the basis of the decoded sign bit or sign bits, whether or not an error in writing or reading of the digital data in or from the storage part has occurred; and a signal processing part that processes the digital data read from the storage part on the basis of output of the determination part.

  • Patent number: 11218658
Abstract: Provided is a solid-state imaging device that includes a high sensitivity floating diffusion (FD) and a low sensitivity FD that hold a charge generated in a photodiode PD of a pixel, an FD coupling transistor that turns on and off coupling of the high sensitivity FD and the low sensitivity FD, and a saturation sensing circuit that performs a control that couples the high sensitivity FD and the low sensitivity FD, when a voltage of a pixel signal outputted from the pixel matches a voltage of a ramp signal. A level of the ramp signal varies in accordance with elapsed time.

  • Patent number: 10764516
Abstract: An image sensor and an electronic device are disclosed. They are configured to output, from the image sensor, a plurality of different pieces of image data based on a full-size original image. In one example, an image sensor includes: a pixel unit that generates a full-size original image corresponding to incident light with many photoelectric conversion elements; a holding unit that has a capacity capable of holding at least the full-size original image; an image processing unit that generates a full-size processed image by performing predetermined image processing with respect to the full-size original image; and a modification unit that generates a modified-size processed image by modifying a size of the full-size processed image. The full-size processed image and the modified-size processed image are output. Applications include a CMOS image sensor in which a DRAM is installed.

  • Publication number: 20200213549
Abstract: The present technology relates to a solid-state imaging device, a method of controlling the same, and an electronic apparatus, which make it possible to generate an HDR image in an easier manner. The solid-state imaging device includes: a high sensitivity FD 40H and a low sensitivity FD 40L that hold a charge generated in a photodiode PD of a pixel; an FD coupling transistor that turns on and off coupling of the high sensitivity FD 40H and the low sensitivity FD 40L; and a saturation sensing circuit that performs a control that couples the high sensitivity FD 40H and the low sensitivity FD 40L, when a voltage of a pixel signal outputted from the pixel matches a voltage of a ramp signal. A level of the ramp signal varies in accordance with elapsed time. The present technology is applicable, for example, to a solid-state imaging device that generates an HDR image having an expanded dynamic range.

  • Patent number: 5960445
Abstract: BIOS updating is performed after saving an old BIOS to a spare storage area. A current version BIOS stored in a first bank of a flash ROM is moved to a second bank of the flash ROM, and a new BIOS supplied from a home server to a network interface card is stored in the first bank to complete BIOS updating. If the new BIOS does not run well, the old BIOS in the second bank of the flash ROM is moved to the first bank through a RAM to be reinstalled.
