  • Patent number: 7792449
Abstract: In an image forming apparatus which uses a pressing roller and a fixing roller that are pressing and contacting each other to sandwich record medium and fixes toner image onto the record medium, in order to inhibit a temperature in non-paper passing area from extremely rising, a temperature detecting section detects a temperature of the fixing roller via a thermistor (2) 75 installed in the non-paper passing area of the record medium in the fixing roller; a temperature comparing section 44 compares the detection temperature detected by the temperature detecting section 62 with a predetermined standard temperature, a print controlling section 45 reduces heat amount provided to the fixing roller for a predetermined period when the detection temperature exceeds the standard temperature on the basis of a comparison result of the temperature comparing section 44.

  • Patent number: 7419156
Abstract: An overlapped-sheet detection apparatus can detect whether sheets are overlapped and shift the same, if overlapped, for further processing. The overlapped-sheet detection apparatus is provided with conveying belts, forwarding and shifting rollers, motor and discriminator. Conveying belts hold and convey sheets on a conveying path. Forwarding roller is provided at the conveying path to forward sheets 1 in a conveying direction and forward sheets in conveying direction. Shifting roller is provided opposite to forwarding roller to shift sheets back to a direction which is the reverse of conveying direction if the sheets are overlapped. Motor supplies shifting roller with driving torque to shift sheets back to the direction reversed to conveying direction. An encoder is built in motor to detect a rotation state of shifting roller. Discriminator judges from an output of the encoder whether sheets are overlapped.

  • Patent number: 7280693
Abstract: A document information input apparatus detects a position and an attribute of an area of a real document to be input designated by a user with high accuracy. Based on the detected position and attribute, the document information input apparatus recognizes an image of the area as text information by performing recognition processes suitable for the detected attribute such as character recognition, table recognition and a figure process. Then, the document information input apparatus pastes the resulting information to a pertinent position of an electronic document on a display. As a result, it is possible to input information such as a character sequence, a table and a figure from a real document to an electronic document at high speed and with high accuracy.
