  • Publication number: 20180066593
Abstract: There are provided a control device and an abnormal combustion detecting method for detecting occurrence of abnormal combustion during an expansion stroke of an internal combustion engine. The control device of the present invention receives a detection signal of a vibration sensor for detecting pressure vibration in a combustion chamber, and detects occurrence of knocking based on a knocking-specific frequency component extracted from the detection signal in a knocking determination region within the expansion stroke. In addition, the control device detects the characteristic value, different from the knocking-specific frequency component, of the detection signal in an abnormal combustion determination region which includes the knocking determination region and which expands over the compression stroke before ignition timing and the expansion stroke, and detects self-ignition during the compression stroke before ignition timing and self-ignition during the expansion stroke, based on the characteristic value.

  • Patent number: 9097194
Abstract: Control device of an internal combustion engine that determines whether or not to perform sensor element heating control of an air-fuel ratio sensor with high accuracy based on the mass of condensed water in an exhaust pipe. The control device computes the rate of change of condensed water mass in an exhaust pipe based on the saturated water vapor pressure and the water vapor partial pressure of exhaust gas, and computes the rate of change of evaporation mass in the exhaust pipe based on the amount of heat which the condensed water receives in the exhaust pipe. The control device updates the mass of condensed water based on the rate of change of condensed water mass and the rate of change of evaporation mass, and determines whether or not to perform heating control by a heating controlling unit based on the updated mass of condensed water.

  • Patent number: 7757667
Abstract: A high-pressure fuel pump of an internal combustion engine has a fuel injection valve provided on a cylinder. The high-pressure fuel pump is for pumping fuel to the fuel injection valve, and has a pressure chamber, a plunger for pressurizing the fuel in the pressure chamber, a fuel valve provided in the pressure chamber, and an actuator for operating the fuel valve. A control device has means for calculating the drive signal of the actuator so as to realize the variable discharge of the high-pressure fuel pump. The end timing of the drive signal is limited or restricted so that an attraction force of a solenoid coil is not maintained at the bottom dead center of the plunger in case that the required discharge to the fuel pump is less than the total discharge.
