    Abstract: The present invention provides an optical disk drive that performs a stable lock operation with a small number of components at the time of the insertion of a tray. The optical disk drive has a locking mechanism which engages the inserted tray with the chassis, a reset arm provided in the tray to return the locking mechanism to the initial state, and an engaging boss that is provided in the chassis and is engaged with the reset arm. The tray has a projecting portion for controlling the engagement position between the reset arm and the engaging boss. The projecting portion comes into contact with a back surface of the engaging boss, to control the engaging amount between the reset arm and the engaging boss to be constant.

The casing has rail guides formed on a side section of the casing in opposition with the guide rails when the tray is inserted and for guiding the guide rail, and a spring member formed on a frontend of the rail guides in the direction of tray insertion or ejection to provide elastic deformation when a force toward the tray insertion direction is applied to the spring member.

An upper end of the second tapered surface is located farther from a center of rotation of an optical disk than a lower end, and thus air in a peripheral portion of the optical disk generated during rotation of the disk is introduced along the tapered surface to a rear.

The projection is formed in an end range on the front face side of the case in the rail guide, and the rail rides on the projection of the rail guide when the tray is drawn out from the case.
