  • Patent number: 6730535
Abstract: The silicon substrate is masked on one surface of the silicon substrate where structures like combs and beams of comb drive are not to be formed on the other surface. The unmasked areas are then etched followed by masking areas on the other surface corresponding to the structures. Finally, the unmasked areas on the other surface are again etched by anisotropic reactive ion etching to form the structures.

  • Publication number: 20040025633
Abstract: A nonfired agglomerated ore which is satisfactory in reduction property in the shaft of a blast furnace and excellent in rapid heating bursting property and a production method thereof are provided. A carbon containing nonfired agglomerated ore for blast furnace which is prepared in such a way that iron oxide and a carbonaceous material are blended with each other to prepare a mixture, a binder is added to the mixture, and the mixture is kneaded, formed, and cured, wherein the agglomerated ore contains carbon in the content of 80 to 120% of the theoretical carbon quantity required to reduce the reducible oxygen in the iron ores to form metallic iron, and the binder is selected so that the crushing strength may be 7,850 kN/m2 or more at room temperature.

  • Publication number: 20030124603
Abstract: A mouse cDNA library from gene fragments encoding proteins localizing at cell-cell junctions was screened by a technique visualizing localization of a protein to to identify a junction-enriched and -associated protein, JEAP. GenBank homology search was performed based on the sequence. Based on the obtained sequence, a mouse cDNA library was screened to identify JEAP-2. By using prepared antibodies against these proteins, it was revealed that these proteins express specifically at tight junctions, in particular, tight junctions in exocrine glands.

  • Publication number: 20020183872
Abstract: A golf site administration system allows elimination of golf site personnel involved in making player reservations, receiving payments, and ordering foodstuffs. A terminal allows a player to request and reserve golf play at a golf site via a communication circuit. A reservation signal is stored in a reservation storing means. The player checks in before play using an input means. A set of check-in information is compared with the stored reservation signal. If the information matches, check-in is performed.

  • Patent number: 6161989
Abstract: A wall surface of a structure to be rendered antifouling is covered with antifouling panels caused to firmly adhere thereto and fixed. Not only can this work be conducted easily and quickly but also part of the antifouling panels can be easily replaced. The disclosed antifouling wall structure and method of constructing the antifouling wall are characterized in that antifouling panels each comprising a base material layer and, formed thereon, an antifouling paint layer are arranged on a wall surface of structure to be rendered antifouling so that the antifouling panels have their side of antifouling paint layer brought into contact with water and detachably fixed by means of fastening members.

  • Patent number: 5737664
Abstract: When the surface temperature of a heating roller exceeds a predetermined temperature, bearings that rotatably support the heating roller melt. Thus, a pressuring roller causes the heating roller to move toward a temperature detecting device. Thus, the heating roller comes in contact with the temperature detecting device. Consequently, when a defect takes place, the warm-up time after the temperature detecting device works until the power to the heater is shut off can be reduced. In addition or in the alternative, an electrode plate has edges electrically contacting and connecting the heater in the heating roller and a power supply. As the heating roller moves, electrical contact between the heater and the electrode plate is broken and the power from the power supply to the heater is disconnected. As a result, an electrophotographic printing apparatus can be prevented from getting defective, thereby improving the reliability thereof.

  • Patent number: 5307134
Abstract: An electrophotographic apparatus for providing a thermally fixed toner image on a recording medium and wherein the fixing temperature can be selectively canceled. The apparatus is of the type including: an image forming unit for forming a toner image to be printed and for then transferring the toner image onto a recording medium, a feed mechanism for feeding a recording medium supplied via one of at least two guide paths to the image forming unit, a fixing unit for thermally fixing the transferred toner image on the recording medium, and a temperature control unit for setting a fixing temperature for the fixing unit. A controller is provided to determine the particular guide paths used to supply the recording medium and to command the temperature control unit to set a fixing temperature in accordance with the determined guide path.
