    Abstract: Herein provided are processes for preparing coated printing paper having good print quality by spray coating. Specifically, a coated printing paper is prepared by a process for preparing a coated printing paper having one or more coating layers on at least one side of a base paper, comprising the steps of: preparing a spray coating solution containing a pigment and an binder including a starch, wherein (a) the starch is present at 30-100% by weight of the total amount of the binder, and (b) the Brookfield viscosity measured at 30° C., 100 rpm is 300 mPa·s or less; and applying the coating solution by spray coating to form the outermost coating layer.
