  • Patent number: 5234097
Abstract: A belt-like tire component member 8 is conveyed to a shaping drum 2 by a belt conveyor 1. There is provided a conveyor belt 6 having a reverse surface with at least one toothed portion 12 which protrudes from the reverse surface at a predetermined position in width thereof and endlessly extends along a longitudinal direction of the belt, a driving drum 4 which drives the conveyor belt 6 and has teeth 14 formed on the outer peripheral portion corresponding to the toothed portion 12 so as to mesh with the toothed portion, and a driving motor 7 which drives the driving drum 4 and controls its rotational speed. There is provided a plurality of air holes 11 on the conveyor belt 6, and an air chamber 9b which is disposed under the conveyor belt 6 so as to contact therewith and to communicate with the air holes 11. Air is supplied to and discharged from the air chamber 9b by a blower 24.

  • Patent number: 5195411
Abstract: A cut edge position correcting apparatus is used for correcting a direction and a wave-like contour of a cut edge of a belt-shaped member cut by a cutter unit. The cut edge position correcting apparatus includes a support base for supporting a belt-shaped member, a bending member arranged extendible above and retractable into the support base for bending the cut edge portion upwardly, and a restraining member rotatable in a horizontal plane for uriging the belt-shaped member over its entire width against the support base. The apparatus further includes a lifting unit for raising and lowering the restraining member, clamp pawls for clamping the cut edge portioned, a plurality of slide plates arranged aligned with each other in a lengthwise direction of the restraining member to hold the cut edge portion over their entire widths in cooperation with the clamp pawls, and a driving unit for independently moving said slide plates relative to the restraining member.

  • Patent number: 5194107
Abstract: A method of attaching a belt-like member being transferred by a conveyor to a circumference of a drum comprises steps of detecting a leading end and a trailing end of the belt-like member, respectively, transferring the belt-like member by the conveyor until the leading end of the member arrives at a leading end set position, and further transferring the belt-like member and rotating the drum to attach the belt-like member to the circumference of the drum so that at the same time when the leading end of the belt-like member attached to the drum arrives at a set rotated position, the trailing end of the belt-like member arrives at a trailing end set position spaced a predetermined distance from a trailing end detected position where the tailing end was detected in the first step, thereby jointing the leading and trailing ends.

  • Patent number: 5175930
Abstract: The front end and rear end of a belt-shaped member having a predetermined length are grasped by front end grasping pawls and rear end grasping pawls, respectively, movable in synchronism with and independently from each other when required. The front and rear end grasping pawls are moved in synchronism with each other until the front end of the belt-shaped member arrives at the forming drum. After the front end of the belt-shaped member has been pressure-joined with the forming drum, only the rear end grasping pawls grasping the rear end of the belt-shaped member are moved to attach the belt-shaped member to the circumference of the forming drum. The length of the belt-shaped member is modified to a predetermined length or the circumferential length of the forming drum while the front and rear ends are grasped by the front and rear end grasping pawls, respectively, or the belt-shaped member is being attached to the forming drum.

  • Patent number: 5092946
Abstract: A method and an apparatus for sticking a belt-like member, wherein a belt-like member prepared by cutting a raw material of the belt-like member on a conveyor at two front and rear locations, is conveyed by the conveyor, wrapped around a cylindrical drum and stuck to the drum. The inclination angle of the cut line at the leading end of the belt-like member is measured at the time of cutting, the inclination angle of the cut line at the trailing end is measured at the time of cutting, and by comparing the inclination of the cut line at the trailing end with the inclination angle at the leading end, an amount of correction for the inclination angle is calculated.
