  • Patent number: 9445931
Abstract: A walking assist device having a safety mechanism that mitigates an impact upon falling is provided. A walking assist device has an upper and lower leg links, a motor, and a controller. The controller controls the motor to apply torque to the lower leg link. The walking assist device also has a one-way damper which generates a resisting force against rotation of the lower leg link in the knee bending direction, and does not generate a resisting force against rotation of the lower leg link in the knee straightening direction. The controller engages the one-way damper while controlling the motor to apply torque to the lower leg link in the knee straightening direction, and disengages the one-way damper while controlling the motor to apply torque to the lower leg link in the knee bending direction.

  • Patent number: 9192514
Abstract: A medical instrument includes a handpiece, a tank portion for housing a fluid, a plunger that changes a volume or pressure of an inside of the tank portion to suction the fluid into the tank portion or discharge the fluid from the tank portion, and an operating unit for operating the plunger. The handpiece includes a grip portion at the front end, and an operation member of the operating unit is disposed on a side of the grip portion.

  • Patent number: 7954778
Abstract: An ophthalmic surgery support comprising a moving mechanism for holding a surgical instrument to be movable in Z-axis direction, a tilting mechanism for holding the moving mechanism so that a surgical instrument can be tilted in an arbitrary direction about a specified point that is to be positioned to a wound opening and positioned on the Z-axis, and a tilt fixing mechanism for fixing the tilt of the surgical instrument by the tilting mechanism, wherein the tilting mechanism has a rough-motion tilting mechanism, a fine-motion tilting mechanism finer in tilting range than the rough-motion tilting mechanism, a tilt switching mechanism for switching the tilt of the surgical instrument by the rough-motion tilting mechanism to that by the fine-motion tilting mechanism, and a resistance imparting means for imparting resistance for damping the tilting operation of the surgical instrument by the fine-motion tilting mechanism than that by the rough-motion tilting mechanism.

  • Publication number: 20060004397
Abstract: A vitreous body cutter for cutting a vitreous body in an eye includes: an inner cylindrical blade having a first suction hole and a suction path; an outer cylindrical blade having a second suction hole, the outer cylindrical blade holding the inner cylindrical blade to be rotatable about a center axis thereof; a main body fixed with the outer cylindrical blade; a diaphragm arranged in the main body, the diaphragm being linearly advanced to a distal end side of the blades in a direction of the center axis by supplying compressed gas into a gas chamber formed by the diaphragm and the main body; and a converting-and-transmitting mechanism which converts linearly advancement of the diaphragm into a rotation about the center axis and transmits the rotation to the inner cylindrical blade to rotate the inner cylindrical blade about the center axis.
