    Abstract: EMITANIN having antitumor activity is produced by inoculating mycelia of Tricholoma matsutake, Tricholoma baka-matsutake, Volvariella volvacea or Tremella fuciformis in a medium for growing mycelia and fermenting the grown mycelia in a liquid medium containing a carbohydrate and a nitrogen source and isolating solid substance of mycelia from a broth and extracting the solid substance of mycelia and isolating the active ingredient.
