  • Patent number: 6835001
Abstract: An optical fiber connector includes a connector ferrule having an end face serving as a connection end face of the optical fiber connector, and an optical fiber fixed in the connector ferrule and protruding from the end face of the connector ferrule. A central portion of the optical fiber including a core thereof protrudes from a peripheral portion thereof. Thus, even in cases where the connection end face of an optical component to which the optical fiber connector is connected is uneven and a region thereof to which the optical fiber is connected is recessed, the core of the optical fiber can be connected to the region without fail since the core of the optical fiber protrudes from the peripheral portion of same.

  • Patent number: 6572275
Abstract: An optical connector for making connection with a connecting partner side and releasing this connection is provided. The optical connector has an optical connector housing. The optical connector housing is formed by inserting a slider into a base end wall of an arm side member so as to be freely advanced and retreated. A cam following face is formed on an inner wall face of an arm portion of the arm side member. A claw portion is formed on a tip side of the arm portion. An opening angle driving cam member is connected to a tip side of the slider. A ferrule is arranged between the arm portions on a forward side of the opening angle driving cam member. When the slide is moved backward, the opening angle driving cam member is moved backward and is operated to angularly open the arm portion through the cam following face. This opening angle state is maintained by making the opening angle driving cam member abut on a stationary face of the cam following face.

  • Publication number: 20020186931
Abstract: The position of a ferrule which has been accommodated in a housing for an optical connector of the present invention is uniquely determined within the housing before connection to a mating ferrule. After connection to the mating ferrule, the ferrule is put in a floating condition in the housing. An optical connector of the present invention is constituted by accommodating a ferrule fixing at least an optical fiber in the housing for an optical connector, and the housing and the ferrule do not come into contact with each other even when the housing for an optical connector is inclined.

  • Patent number: 5946977
Abstract: A collapsible steering column includes a bellows tube with a corrugated portion in which the radius varies regularly along the length of the tube. A connective portion is located at both ends of the bellows tube, and transfer portions are located between each of the connective portions and the corrugated portion. By inserting a reinforcement into the end portion of the bellows tube, the strength and rigidity of the connective portion increases. Press forming, stamp forming, rivet forming, and/or adhesive methods are applied to connect the end portion of the bellows tube and the reinforcement.
