  • Publication number: 20040159451
Abstract: An improved air intake and exhaust device for a pistol type air impact wrench which does not discharge its exhaust air into the atmosphere directly from the end of its handle, but discharges it into the atmosphere at a considerable distance from the end of its handle to prevent any dust, etc. from rising at the site of work and any noise from being produced and thereby improve the working environment. In an air in-take and exhaust device for a pistol type air impact wrench having at the end of its handle an intake port and an exhaust port for compressed air for operating an air motor, a silencing bellows tube surrounding an air intake tube connected to the intake port is attached to the end of the handle and the silencing bellows tube and the air intake tube define an annular passage therebetween as an air exhaust passage.

  • Patent number: 6719067
Abstract: A rigid preformed insert is molded into a plastic housing for a power tool. The power tool further comprises a motor having a shaft, the motor being at least partly supported by the insert, and an impact clutch attached to the insert and operatively coupled to the motor shaft. The motor and clutch have a common axis, with the preformed insert located between the motor and the clutch. The insert fixedly secures the axis of the output shaft of the motor. The insert also forms a seal between the motor and clutch. The insert will not warp, distort or otherwise lose tolerance as a result of the molding process for the plastic housing. Further, because the insert is preformed of metal, is precisely orientated within the housing mold, and is permanently molded into the housing, it accurately defines the motor-clutch axis minimizing misalignment of the motor shaft.

  • Patent number: 6708779
Abstract: A reverse apparatus for an air impact wrench in which pressurized air supplied to an air supply passage provided within a grip is fed via the reverse apparatus to an air motor accommodated within an impact wrench main body, and rotational torque output from the air motor is transmitted to an anvil via an impact mechanism. The reverse apparatus includes a cylindrical bush disposed in a lower portion of the impact wrench main body substantially in parallel with an output shaft of the air motor; a valve member slidably disposed within the bush and having an end projecting from the lower portion of the impact wrench main body, the valve member cooperating with the bush in order to supply pressurized air to one of two air ports of the air motor, when positioned at a first axial position, so as to rotate the anvil clockwise and supply pressurized air to the other air port of the air motor.

  • Publication number: 20030010514
Abstract: The present invention provides a reversing valve assembly for selecting the direction of a motor that rotates in a forward direction and a reverse direction. The reversing valve assembly includes a push button that extends outwardly from the tool in a first position, and self-locks when depressed towards the tool in a second position. When it is desirable to return to the forward direction, the reverse valve assembly is releasable from the second position by further depressing the push button towards the tool and releasing the push button, thus controlling the direction of the motor by depressing and releasing the single push button.

  • Patent number: 6152521
Abstract: A front body structure for a vehicle has a pair of front side frames of a boxed-type which extend in a lengthwise direction from the front to the back of the vehicle at opposite sides of the front body. The front side frame has a closed rectangular cross section which has an approximately constant height over the length and has a height-to-width ratio gradually decreasing toward a ratio of 1 (one) as the front frame comes closer to the forward end thereof.
