Abstract: A drawing system in which a thickness and degree of orientation of an oriented film or the like is maintained in a uniform manner under a condition of a high speed, shortened is a time required from a time when a molding material is charged in an extruder and drawing started until a time when a film is taken up on a take-up apparatus, and a high quality film or the like is produced at a high speed and besides, a probability for a not-oriented or oriented film or the like to be broken down during drawing is reduced. A thickness and degree of orientation of a film are independently measured in thickness gauges and a film orientation measuring apparatus in a continuous manner after longitudinal drawing or lateral drawing and measured values are input to a computer.

Abstract: Disclosed in this invention are optical recording media comprising a substrate, a recording layer formed on the substrate and a protective layer formed on the recording layer, in which the recording layer is irradiated with a beam of energy, thereby causing the change of optical properties at the irradiated portions on the recording layer so as to record information,wherein said recording layer is a thin film containing Te and N, and further Pd, if necessary, and producing methods thereof.

Abstract: A process for the preparation of an optical recording medium, which comprises forming a thin optical recording film comprising at least one low melting point metal, carbon and hydrogen on a substrate, and heat treating the so formed film on said substrate at a temperature of from 70.degree. to 300.degree. C. for a period of at least 5 seconds. The optical recording medium so prepared has an enhanced recording sensitivity and a prolonged service life.
