  • Patent number: 7725020
Abstract: There is provided a monitoring camera apparatus which, while ensuring waterproofness, can perform focus adjustment when a dome cover is mounted. A lens (3) is covered by the dome cover (5) which is removable. A focus adjustment mechanism (9) moves an imaging device (7) in an optical axis direction and thereby performs focus adjustment. A setting button (13) being a focus setting operation unit is arranged in the inner side of the dome cover (5), and operated when the dome cover (5) is mounted. A controller (11) controls the focus adjustment mechanism (9). The controller (11) allows the focus adjustment mechanism (9) to start focus adjustment when a predetermined focus start wait time has elapsed after operation of the setting button (13). The focus start wait time is set according to a standard mounting operation time required to mount the dome cover (5).

  • Publication number: 20070160265
Abstract: An imaging optical system 110 of an iris image pickup camera 100 has a common light axis in a region where an iris as an object is situated, and has first and second branch light axes branched from the common light axes. The imaging optical system 110 further has focusing ranges displaced from each other on the common axis for each of first and second branch light paths which passes through each of the first and second branch light axes. An imaging element 12 and an image processing section 13 generate image data of an iris image formed through the first and second branch light paths. Thus, an iris image pickup camera can be provided, which can promptly take an iris image for iris authentication in a simple configuration and without bothering a person to be authenticated.

  • Patent number: 6940274
Abstract: A magnetic position detecting device for detecting a position of a moving body to a fixed body on the basis of a change of a magnetic flux density that a Hall element on the fixed body senses when the moving body provided with a magnet moves relative to the fixed body. An S-pole and an N-pole of the magnet are juxtaposed along a direction of the movement. When the Hall element passes a boundary between the poles of the magnet, the sensed magnetic flux density is zero, the polarities of the magnetic field are inverted, and therefore the Hall element does not sense any variation of the position. Only when the magnet and the Hall element mutually approach, a detect signal based on the sensed magnetic flux density is compared with a reference signal. By detecting a position where both the signals are equal in level, a reference position is detected.

  • Patent number: 6867798
Abstract: In a monitor camera system capable of understanding a direction, a monitor camera follows, through a picture taken by the monitor camera, the monitor camera makes 360-degree pan rotation and 180-degree tilt rotation, and generates image data in which a character representative of a photographing direction (for example, north) of the monitor camera is superimposed on a picture taken by the monitor camera. Accordingly, the monitor camera provides a picture in which the photographing direction indicating character appears. This enables an operator to easily understand the camera direction through the monitor picture, thus achieving efficient and accurate camera manipulation.

  • Patent number: 6744461
Abstract: In a monitor camera system comprising a monitor camera making 360-degree panning rotation and more-than 90-degree tilting rotation and a control unit for controlling the monitor camera, for masking a privacy zone in a picture taken by the monitor camera, the control unit sets mask data through the use of a contour parameter of a configuration of a mask zone for covering the privacy zone, while the monitor camera side holds the mask data to mask a portion of the picture with the mask zone defined on the basis of the mask data. According to this monitor camera system, since only a portion of the picture is masked with the mask zone, it is possible to protect the privacy from the picture taken by the monitor camera without impairing the monitoring function. In addition, since the monitor camera side holds the mask data, quick processing becomes feasible.

  • Patent number: 6714236
Abstract: To provide a security camera system for displaying a picture so as to easily know a place where an abnormal situation occurs. The security camera system includes a security camera 61 having at least more than one rotation axis and a controller 70 for controlling the security camera 61. The controller 70 is provided with a moving picture detector 80 for detecting a motion from pictures taken by the security camera during an automatic monitoring operation. The controller switches an operation of the security camera from automatic monitoring to still monitoring in the case when the moving picture detector detects a motion from monitored pictures. Therefore, in the case when a suspicious person, fire smoke, or the like is detected in a subject building at night, for example, during an automatic monitoring operation for shooting target monitoring places sequentially, a shooting point of the security camera is fixed there so as to shoot and display an abnormal situation on a monitor screen.

  • Publication number: 20030012413
Abstract: In iris identification apparatus for performing personal identification by way of a shot iris image, a plurality of images are shot by using a camera whose quantity of a visible light included in an illuminating light irradiated onto a person to be shot differs from each other. The presence of a variation in the pupil diameter in the plurality of iris images is determined by a pupil size comparison processor. In case a variation in the pupil diameter is determined, personal identification by an iris identification processor based on any one of the plurality of iris images. Preferably, light emitting diodes for emitting a green light as a source of a visible light are used.

  • Patent number: 6392693
Abstract: A monitoring camera apparatus includes: a video camera; a panning mechanism; and a tilting mechanism; and automatic pivoting portion for operating the panning mechanism to pan the video camera by a predetermined pan (tilt) angle or to a predetermined pan (tilt) angle position when the video camera reaches the predetermined vertical (horizontal) position and a tilt command is inputted. The predetermined vertical position may be determined when the video camera directs the downward in the vertical direction. The auto-pivoting function may be started in response to both predetermined pan and tilt positions. During the auto-pivoting, controlling the video signal processing is stopped, pan and tilt speed is set to maximum, the direction of panning may be judged when the predetermined angle position is set. After auto-pivoting, tilt is made upwardly though the tilt command indicates downward and the screen image may be inverted and the pan and tilt positions are held until pan (tilt) command is inputted.

  • Patent number: 5166841
Abstract: A recording/reproducing apparatus using a tape medium, includes: two reels for winding and feeding the tape; a driver for drving the reels, a tape speed detector for that outputting speed data on the tape; a periodical desired value circuit for outputting a desired speed value of the tape; a tape speed error detector for outputting an error quantity between the output of the tape speed detector and the output of the periodic desired value circuit, and a driving side determining circuit for outputting a drive instruction to the reel of the winding side at the time of acceleration and which, at the time of deceleration, outputs a drive instruction corresponding to the output of the tape speed error detector to the reel of the feeding side, in order to control the tape speed by driving the reels. The deceleration torque is now applied to the reel of the feeding side that could not be applied to the reel of the winding side since the tape slackens conventionally.
