  • Publication number: 20050239443
Abstract: In a multiservice wireless communication system according to the present invention, a location manager 47 of a multiservice terminal 140 detects its own position with a GPS receiver interface 49. The location manager sends the detected positional information to a management server 110 via a common-signaling wireless network base station 100 in which respective multiple service zones serviced by multiple wireless systems overlap in a common-signaling wireless zone and acquires information on available wireless systems as a response to that. A network selecting section 44 selects a wireless system that most matches selecting conditions from the acquired available wireless systems and performs communication via the interfaces 40 and 41 that operate the selected wireless system.

  • Publication number: 20050218723
Abstract: A rainfall determination apparatus for determining rainfall based on data relating to a wiping operation of a wiper. The apparatus includes a detection device for detecting the wiping operation every time this operation is performed; a timer for starting to clock a predetermined period of time for each wiping operation; a counter for counting the number of times of the wiping operation performed before the predetermined period of time has elapsed; and a determination device for determining that rainfall occurs when the counter counts a predetermined number of times of the wiping operation which is successively performed. The timing of lighting the headlight of a vehicle can be changed in accordance with the result of the determination about the rainfall situation based on the wiping operation of the existing wiper. The apparatus is inexpensive and can be easily built in an automatic lighting system for vehicles, which is relatively expensive.

  • Publication number: 20050222726
Abstract: A vehicle customizing system is highly reliable in the event of communication failures. For setting control characteristic values pertaining to functions of control units to control characteristic values favored by the user, the functions and the present control characteristic values set for the functions are displayed on a display unit. The control characteristic values, which are changed using the display unit, are stored in first function information tables of the control units, which directly perform the functions. Even in the event of a communication failure, the control units are capable, on their own, of controlled objects in order to perform the functions thereof based on the control characteristic values stored in the first function information tables.

  • Patent number: 5994797
Abstract: A circuit is provided to ensure that even when a drive circuit system for a power window is wetted with water due to the entering of water or the condensatin of water, the opening and closing of the power window can be performed without hindrance. Coils of an opening relay and a closing relay are selectively connected at one end thereof to a power source or ground through a control switch and at the other end to the power source or ground through an electronic circuit which has been subjected to a water-proofing treatment. Even if leakage current flows from a high-potential portion of the coils to ground, the leakage current is caught by electric current flowing from the power source. In addition, even if leakage current flows from the power source to a lower-potential portion of the coils, the leakage current flows to ground without passing through the coils. Therefore, the unintended excitation and de-excitation of the coils can be prevented to thereby reliably open and close the power window.

  • Patent number: 5925997
Abstract: A drive circuit system includes an opening control circuit Eo adapted to close an opening relay to drive a motor in a window opening direction by operation of a control switch to an opening position, and a closing control circuit Es adapted to close a closing relay to drive the motor in a window closing direction by operation of the control switch to a closing position. The opening control circuit Eo and the closing control circuit Es include final output stage transistors To and Ts, respectively, each of which comprises a PNP-type transistor. When the drive circuit system becomes wet due to the entry or condensation of water or liquid, a leak current I is permitted to flow simultaneously between bases of the final output stage transistors To and Ts and ground 2. Both of the transistors To and Ts are simultaneously turned on to close the opening relay and the closing relay.
