    Abstract: A camera has a lens barrier which can move between a closed position where a taking lens is covered and an opened position where the taking lens is exposed, and the on/off state of a power source is switched interlockingly with the open/close state of the lens barrier. A housing for housing the camera has a barrier driving lever for driving the lens barrier. At the time of attaching the housing, the tip of the barrier driving lever is retained by a finger retaining part of the camera to move the lens barrier to the opened position. As a result, attachment of the housing in a power-off state made by the lens barrier can be prevented.

    Abstract: The present invention provides an image capturing apparatus capable of efficiently transmitting image data to an external device and having improved reliability in data transmission. A data communication mode established between a data communication part and an external device is determined by a communication mode determining part. A compression ratio setting part sets a compression ratio adapted to the data communication mode determined by the communication mode determining part and sets the compression ratio to a compressor. The compressor performs a compressing process on image data to be transmitted on the basis of the set compression ratio. The compressed image data is sent to the data communication part and transmitted to the external device.

A case cover is coupled to the crankcase by a plurality of bolts to close the opening, and which has a second bearing. Two knock pins are fit into the crankcase and the case cover over their joint faces at locations closer to a cylinder bore in the engine block than the second bearing. The knock pins define the position for coupling the crankcase and the case cover to each other and contribute to an increase in rigidity of the case cover. The supporting strength for the crankshaft is increased and the weight of the case cover is reduced.

    Abstract: A library apparatus having a rotatable cell drum adapted to store a plurality of recording media cartridges, the cell drum having a plurality of columns and each column having plural cells configured to receive the recording media cartridges. The library apparatus further includes a door configured to selectively provide direct operator access to all of the cells of a selected column without the assistance of a media transport device. The library apparatus is provided with a cell drum locking mechanism configured to selectively lock the cell drum and prevent rotational movement of the cell drum, and a door locking mechanism configured to selectively lock the door and prevent opening of the door. A link operably interconnects the drum locking mechanism and the door locking mechanism such that the cell drum locking mechanism must assume a locked state before the door locking mechanism may assume an unlocked state.

    Abstract: A library apparatus for storage media such as optical disks includes a rotatable cell drum having several columns of cells for storing the storage media, a load/unload device for inserting and removing cartridges one at a time, at least one drive for reading from or writing to selected media, and an accessor which moves the storage media between the load/unload device and the cell drum, and between the cell drum and the drive. The load/unload device rotates in a collinear arrangement with the cell drum, and can rotate in unison with the cell drum, or independently of the cell drum. The collinear arrangement of the cell drum and the load/unload device reduces the overall size of the library.
