  • Patent number: 5620242
Abstract: A latch (202) for a battery (10) includes a beam (2) supported at opposite springing (418) ends (8). A protrusion (52) located between the opposite ends of the beam selectively latches onto a fixed hook (152).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: April 19, 1993
Date of Patent: April 15, 1997
    Assignee: Motorola, Inc.
Inventors: Robert Leon, Kok H. Chong, Kuruvilla Valakuzhy
  • Patent number: 5596487
Abstract: First and second shielding portions (110, 112) formed of electroless plated plastic enclose a radio frequency (RF) board (108). Bosses (148) extend from inner surfaces (130, 142) of the first and second shielding portions (110, 112) to make contact with compressible ground clip members (126) located on the RF board (108).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 31, 1995
Date of Patent: January 21, 1997
    Assignee: Motorola, Inc.

  • Patent number: 5457376
Abstract: A battery (10) includes at least one cell (71) which is contained in a housing (16). Mating mechanisms, located on the housing, selectively attach the battery to the radio. The mating mechanisms include a protrusion (36) selectively receivable (64) by the radio. For electrical coupling, at least one electrical contact (18) is located on the protrusion (36).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: January 21, 1994
Date of Patent: October 10, 1995
    Assignee: Motorola, Inc.
Inventors: Kok H. Chong, Steven J. Finch, Robert Leon
  • Patent number: 5424921
Abstract: An electronic assembly (100) includes a first circuit board (120) which houses electronic components (122), a second circuit board (140) being three-dimensional and having integral members (143) to receive and position the first circuit board (120), and an electrical connector (130) between the first circuit board (120) and the second circuit board (140).
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 7, 1993
Date of Patent: June 13, 1995

  • Patent number: 5316168
Abstract: A detachable self-contained door cover assembly (105) includes a housing (101) with an integral socket (160), a hinge member (140) having a rotation track (153), and a door cover (120) having an integral hinge shaft (123). The hinge shaft (123) engages the rotation track (153) to rotatably couple the door cover (120) to the hinge member (140) about an axis of rotation extending through the hinge shaft (123) and the rotation track (153). The hinge member (140) is attached to the socket (160), and is detachable when a force exceeding a threshold value is applied to the hinge member (140), thereby disengaging the hinge member (140) from the socket (160) without substantial damage to the hinge member (140) or to the housing (101).
