  • Patent number: 10160069
Abstract: A headrest stay is manufactured with a metal round pipe having a predetermined length and a predetermined thickness by performing a boring process on the metal round pipe by a cutting length of 5 mm or more from each of both distal ends of the metal round pipe to form a thin-walled portion that is thinner than the predetermined thickness; forming each of the distal ends of the metal round pipe into an curved chamfered shape having a radius of 5 mm or more by inserting each of the distal ends of the metal round pipe into a cylindrical hole; and bending the metal round pipe to have a shape of the headrest stay.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: March 9, 2016
Date of Patent: December 25, 2018
Assignees: TOYOTA BOSHOKU KABUSHIKI KAISHA, TOKAI CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, LTD.
Inventors: Hiroyuki Nasu, Akihide Ozaki, Koki Uemura
  • Patent number: 9663006
Abstract: A vehicle seat provided in a vehicle includes a headrest with a pad in which an insert member is provided at a portion at which a head of an occupant is received. The insert member has rigidity that is higher than rigidity of the pad. When a rear-side collision occurs in the vehicle in a state in which the head of the occupant is away from the headrest and an inertia force applied to the occupant, the insert member allows the head of the occupant to sink into the headrest after the head of the occupant comes in contact with the headrest.

Date of Patent: May 30, 2017
Assignees: TOYOTA BOSHOKU KABUSHIKI KAISHA, TOKAI CHEMICAL INDUSTRIES, LTD.
