  • Publication number: 20060207355
Abstract: A fault diagnosis section activates a driving compornent alone, measures an operation state signal and a paper passage time, and stores feature values (Vm, ?v, Tqs, ?ts) extracted as a determination reference in a storage medium. A paper passage fault determination section determines whether or not a fault has arisen on the basis of the paper passage time when an apparatus is under normal operating conditions. A diagnosis target block determination section determines an order to operate a detail fault diagnosis when it is determined that there is a plurality of diagnosis target blocks.

  • Patent number: 7076086
Abstract: An image inspection device to automate and simplify inspection of an output image. A paper discharge tray of a printer is a different color from paper. A CCD camera is disposed above a paper discharge portion of the printer, at which paper is discharged, and can capture the whole upper face of the paper discharge tray. When, directly after a state in which there is no paper on the paper discharge tray, a print job is received and a first print-processed sheet is outputted to the paper discharge tray, a CPU controls the CCD camera to capture the paper discharge tray in this state. Captured image data including the paper is acquired, corrections are applied to the captured image data and to original image data by image processing, and image characteristics thereof are made substantially the same. Thereafter, the outputted image is inspected by comparison of the two data sets.

  • Patent number: 7003258
Abstract: A transfer device for transferring an object to be transferred in a predetermined direction has a drive mechanism unit, a transfer direction displacement information acquiring unit, a skew direction displacement information acquiring unit, and a transfer processing unit. The drive mechanism unit also has roll parts which cause the object to be transferred to move in the direction with a rotational force. The transfer direction displacement information acquiring unit and the skew direction displacement information acquiring unit radiate a predetermined measuring wave toward the object, so that the units acquire the displacement information in each of the directions. Based on the displacement information, the transfer processing unit performs a predetermined processing.

  • Patent number: 6930800
Abstract: All threshold data applied to processing is read into a register so that threshold data read from threshold matrix memory can be recycled until the end of a scanning line for processing, and is selectively output to a plurality of comparison means for executing parallel comparison processing. The threshold data set in the register is shifted in order for repetitive use. The threshold data of the next scanning line is read into the register during the comparison processing, and upon completion of processing of one scanning line, comparison processing on the next scanning line is executed as pipeline processing. Threshold data read from the memory needs to be executed only once for each scanning line for processing, and threshold data can also be read during halftone data generation of the preceding line.
