  • Patent number: 9783436
Abstract: A stream processing system, where the stream comprises a glycol based hydrate inhibitor and a kinetic hydrate inhibitor (KHI) is provided. The system comprises a thermal oxidation unit (31) and a processing unit comprising a stream inlet (9), a fluid inlet (11) and a mixture outlet (15) in fluid communication with the thermal oxidation unit.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 19, 2012
Date of Patent: October 10, 2017
    Assignee: AKER PROCESS SYSTEMS AS
Inventors: Kolbjorn Moen, Aitziber Sanchez Calvo
  • Patent number: 9233320
Abstract: A cyclone separator for separating a fluid into a gas phase and a liquid phase. The cyclone separator includes a vertically oriented vessel with a gas phase outlet at an upper end of the vessel and a liquid phase outlet at a lower end of the vessel; at least one tangentially oriented fluid inlet at the upper end below the gas phase outlet of the vessel; a liquid extractor extracting liquid through the liquid phase outlet at a rate which forms a bulk liquid phase at the lower end of the vessel; and a gas extractor extracting gas through the gas phase outlet. The cyclone separator has at least one flow velocity deflector located at a level in proximity to the bulk liquid-gas interphase which changes the vertical velocity component of a liquid film travelling down the internal wall of the vessel to a horizontally oriented velocity component.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 2, 2011
Date of Patent: January 12, 2016
    Assignee: FJORDS PROCESSING AS
Inventors: Kolbjørn Moen, Christian Melby Bjørn, Astrid Heggelund, Geir Vingelven
  • Patent number: 9006500
Abstract: A system and method for recovery of hydrate inhibitor from a fluid comprising hydrate inhibitor, water, mineral salt ions and salt particles is disclosed. Wherein, the system comprises: —an indirectly heated paddle dryer with a fluid inlet, at least one vapor outlet and a dry salt outlet —a vapor separation unit in fluid communication with the at least one vapor outlet for separation of the vapor to recover the hydrate inhibitor.

  • Publication number: 20130239811
Abstract: Disclosed is a cyclone separator for separating a fluid into a gas phase and a liquid phase, which comprises: a vertically oriented vessel with cylindrical symmetry and which has a gas phase outlet at the upper end of the vessel and a liquid phase outlet at the lower end of the vessel, at least one tangentially oriented fluid inlet at the upper end below the gas phase outlet of the vessel, able to form a helical liquid flow down along the internal wall of the vessel, a liquid extractor extracting liquid through the liquid phase outlet at a rate which forms a bulk liquid phase at the lower end of the vessel with a relatively constant height level of the bulk liquid-gas interphase, a gas extractor extracting gas through the gas phase outlet, wherein the cyclone separator comprises at least one flow velocity deflector located at a level in proximity of the bulk liquid-gas interphase which changes the vertical velocity component of a liquid film travelling down the internal wall of the vessel to a horizontally or
