  • Patent number: 9515932
Abstract: According to one aspect, the disclosed subject matter describes herein a method that includes aggregating, by an egress function, message traffic directed to a target server entity from each of a plurality of ingress functions and procuring, by the egress function, dynamic update data that includes a message processing capacity threshold value associated with the target server entity and an aggregated message traffic rate corresponding to the message traffic received from the plurality of ingress functions. The method further includes sending the dynamic update data to each of the plurality of ingress functions and adjusting, by each of the ingress functions, an outgoing message traffic rate directed to the target server entity in accordance with the dynamic update data.
    Type: Grant

  • Patent number: 9148388
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer readable media for performing enhanced service routing are disclosed. One method includes receiving, at a Diameter application executing on a message processor associated with a DSR, a Diameter message that requires a service. The method also includes determining, using service routing data, at least one service provider for performing the service associated with the Diameter message, wherein the service routing data is based on service capability information provided by a plurality of service providers and sending the Diameter message or a portion of the Diameter message to the at least one service provider for performing the service.

  • Patent number: 7633969
Abstract: A signaling network routing node, such as a signaling system 7 (SS7)/Internet protocol (IP) gateway, is adapted to perform global title translation (GTT) or other processing on received signaling messages and route the signaling messages to a member of a load sharing group using a threshold-based weighted load sharing algorithm. In the event that one of the signaling destinations in the load sharing group becomes unavailable, signaling message traffic is redistributed evenly among the remaining available members of the load sharing group in a manner such that a maximum load sharing weight threshold value associated with each group member is not exceeded.

  • Publication number: 20080101248
Abstract: The subject matter described herein includes methods, systems, and computer program products for selective network management in a network having multiple active routes to a common destination that are keyed by different combinations of parameters. According to one aspect, the subject matter described herein includes a method for controlling distribution of network management messages concerning the status of a signaling link by provisioning a routing node with a primary route to a destination and at least one exception route to the destination wherein the primary route and the exception route are keyed by different combinations of signaling message parameters.

  • Publication number: 20070286083
Abstract: Methods, systems, and computer program products for individually identifying and disabling circular routes from active routes to a common destination are disclosed. According to one method, multiple active routes are maintained to a common destination. Congestion is detected on a signaling link associated with at least one of the routes. In response to detecting the congestion, at least one of the routes is tested for circularity. One of the routes is identified as circular based on the testing. In response to identifying the route as circular, the route is disabled and use of the remaining active routes to the destination is continued.
