  • Patent number: 10332432
Abstract: A display device includes a display panel, a timing controller, and a data driver. The display panel includes a central region and a peripheral region. The timing controller converts image data to converted data so that a maximum luminance of the peripheral region is less than a maximum luminance of the central region. The data driver generates a data signal based on the converted data and to provide the data signal to the display panel.

  • Patent number: 9076381
Abstract: An organic light emitting display device, which can independently (or freely or individually or arbitrarily) control light emission times of red, green and blue subpixels and a driving method thereof. The organic light emitting display device includes a plurality of subpixels connected with scan lines, light emitting control lines, and data lines; a scan driver for driving the scan lines and the light emitting control lines; and a data driver for driving the data lines. Here, the subpixels connected with one of the light emitting control lines generate lights of a same color.

  • Patent number: 8018405
Abstract: An organic light emitting diode (OLED) display device and a method for driving the OLED display device are provided. A gate drive circuit provides scan signals in sub-frames to scan lines. A data drive circuit provides a data signal to data lines. An emission control signal generation circuit provides first and second emission control signals to control the OLEDs. A display region includes pixels arranged in a matrix and connected to the scan lines, data lines, emission control lines, and power lines. The pixels include a first and a second unit pixel portion. The first unit pixel portion performs a time division control drive by driving a plurality of organic light emitting diodes by one shared pixel circuit. In the second unit portion one organic light emitting diode is driven by an independent pixel circuit.

  • Patent number: 7782275
Abstract: Disclosed is an organic light emitting display and a driving method thereof capable of reducing the number of output lines in a data driver. A scan driver sequentially supplies a scan signal to a scan line during a second period of one horizontal period. A data driver includes a plurality of output lines, for supplying a plurality of data signals to the respective output lines during the second period. Demultiplexers are installed at the respective output lines, and include a plurality of data transistors for supplying the data signals to the output lines during the second period, to a plurality of data lines. Initializing sections are installed between a first initialization power supply and the plurality of data lines, and include a plurality of initialization transistors for supplying a voltage of the first initialization power supply to the plurality of data lines.

  • Publication number: 20070103405
Abstract: An organic light emitting diode (OLED) display device and a driving method using a time division control drive method for OLEDs having a relatively longer life time and a general drive method for OLEDs having a relatively shorter life time.
