  • Patent number: 10540706
Abstract: A system for injecting and ejecting virtual connected buttons on an operating system (OS) interface includes one or more communications channels connecting a host to on-line product/service acquisition sites, information on a user's purchases from the acquisition sites, a virtual purchasing connected button (VPCB) for each product/service the user buys from an acquisition site that can be displayed on an interface of the OS of the host, and an online-purchasing system manager that triggers, based on that information, a deferring action of the display of the VPCB on the OS interface for one or more products.
    Type: Grant

Date of Patent: January 21, 2020
    Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION
Inventors: Thomas E. Chefalas, Clifford A. Pickover, Maja Vukovic, Komminist Sisai Weldemariam
  • Patent number: 9943387
Abstract: Parasites are detected and ameliorative actions taken using unmanned aerial vehicles equipped with sensors and equipment for dispensing treatment materials. Physical characteristic data obtained by the sensors is supplemented using a risk management module that increases the confidence level that the diagnosis of a particular parasite on an animal is correct. The risk management module may further be used to assess additional factors, such as the potential harm in applying a selected treatment, in the decision of whether or not to take ameliorative action.

Date of Patent: April 17, 2018
    Assignee: INTERNATIONAL BUSINESS MACHINES CORPORATION

  • Publication number: 20180053503
Abstract: The disclosure provides systems and methods for generating and delivering situational-dependent incident responses. An incident response is generated based on incident characterizations as well as emotional data pertaining to a reporting person. The generated response may also involve an interactive component in order to obtain further situational details from the reporting person and other sources, thereby further refine the response and recommendations. Persons reporting incidents are aided by appropriate recommendations and assistance from appropriate service providers.
