Abstract: The present invention refers to a method and a machine for packaging a food product by means of foil-type half-shells, wherein the foil-type half-shells are trimmed before being loaded with the food product, the trimming unit for trimming foil-type half-shells being located outside a food processing unit in which food products are loaded into foil-type half-shells.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a device for folding a foil material half-shell edge which protrudes from a surface of the packaging of a packaged food product, said half-shells receiving the food product. The half-shells have flanges, at least some regions of which lie one on top of the other and which form the protruding edge. The aim of the invention is to improve a quick and reliable method which can be carried out with little effort for improving the appearance of food products packaged in foil half-shells. This is achieved in that during a relative movement between a packaged food product and a die, an edge region of the die presses against the protruding edge of the foils, whereby the edge of the foils is at least partly folded to lie substantially flush on one of the half-shells. The invention further relates to a device which corresponds to the method.

Abstract: The present invention proposes a device (1) that saves time and costs and is reliable and gentle on material for cutting off and providing a film part unit (20) from a food-packaging film strip (7), comprising a cutting station (2) which is adapted to intermittently cut off film part units (20) from a food-packaging film strip (7) which intermittently passes through the cutting station (2) in a conveying direction (5), characterized in that the cutting station (2) is adapted to pre-cut a film part unit (20) in one working step, where the film part unit (20) remains connected to the film strip (7), and to cut off from the film strip (7) a film part unit (20) that adjoins in the conveying direction (5) and has already been pre-cut in a preceding working step. The invention also relates to a corresponding method.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for manufacturing packaging for a food product, in particular a hollow shaped chocolate article. In the disclosed method, two half-shells are provided, each of which includes a pre-shaped, curved thin foil having an edge that projects peripherally, a food product is introduced between the half-shells, the edges of the half-shells are coupled to one another such that the two half-shells accommodate the product in a cavity, a sealing layer being provided in at least some sections between the edges, and the edges are joined to one another using a sealing and folding process. In order to be able to carry out said method as easily and conveniently as possible, effectively seal the half-shells at the edges and obtain packaging that is esthetically appealing from the outside, the sealing process is performed at the same time as the edges are folded or after the edges have been folded.

Abstract: In a container made of surface protected cardboard, the container jacket is wound overlappingly from a flat blank, and closures are set into the jacket ends. Each closure is provided with a rim to be sealed to the jacket. The inner longitudinal edge of the jacket is covered with a protective strip folded in the shape of a U around that edge. The edge is recessed in the area of the rim to enable legs of the strip to closely approach one another whereby the rim can make a more complete sealing engagement with an inner circumference of the jacket.

Abstract: A folding tray is formed by a single foldable blank which includes a bottom wall, lateral walls, and corner sections. The lateral walls and corner elements include border sections which form a horizontal rim around the periphery of the tray. Each corner section includes a generally rectangular center part and a pair of transition sections on either side thereof. Each transition section comprises a pair of triangular parts joined to each other by a fold line and joined to the center part and associated lateral wall by fold lines. Between the center part and its associated border section is a lens-shaped equalizer section which avoids the creation of an abrupt angle between the center part and border section to enable the border section to lie flat in the erected tray. The equalizer section is defined by a pair of curved fold lines which converge to form points situated adjacent the respective transition sections.
