    Abstract: A static/purity device includes a stationary bipolar purity control with rotatable magnets and movable quadipolar and sextipolar controls with rotatablemagnets for positioning over an in-line arrangement of electron guns in a color television picture tube. The picture tube base defines a reference surface for the guns. The picture tube socket is mounted on a component-carrying printed circuit board which fits around the neck of the picture tube with the socket abutting the reference surface. A rigid plastic insulating cover protects the foil side of the board. The static/purity device includes a pair of legs cooperating with apertures in the cover for correctly positioning the magnets with respect to the gun elements when the socket is connected to the tube base. A clamp firmly affixes the entire assembly to the picture tube neck.

    Abstract: This disclosure depicts a novel yoke adjusting apparatus for tilting a yoke relative to a central axis of a color television picture tube having a funnel with a flared portion and a neck containing an inline electron gun assembly. The yoke adjusting apparatus is illustrated as comprising; a circumferential support about the neck of the funnel and attached to the flared portion, a tilt adjusting means carried by the circumferential support for selectably positioning the yoke, a locking means for locking the tilt adjusting means in any selected position, and a manually operable means for releasing the locking means to free the tilt adjusting means and thereby enable it to be retracted and the yoke readjusted. The apparatus provides for simplicity and economy in readjusting the yoke at a later point in time after the initial adjustment.
