    Abstract: An internal combustion engine has at least one outlet passage for exhausting the burned gases, terminating at the exterior surface of the engine, and, alternatively, connectable to the afterburning device or to a by-pass line by-passing the afterburning device. A control regulated as a function of temperature is provided to direct the burned gases through the by-pass line at high temperature and through the afterburning device at low temperature.

A hollow steel gear is arranged coaxially with the axis of rotation of the piston and is in engagement with a stationary pinion fixed to the housing coaxially with the axis of rotation of the eccentric shaft.
