  • Patent number: 11422980
Abstract: Exemplary methods, apparatuses, and systems include a target site management server transmitting, to a source site management server, a plurality of protection service plans available for replication of data from the source site to the target site. The transmission of the protection service plans includes a description of one or more service level characteristics provided by each protection service plan and excludes a listing of physical and virtual resources within the target site that are to provide the service level characteristics. The target site management server receives selection of one of the protection service plans and determines the physical resources within the target site to provide the advertised service level characteristics for the data replication. The target site management server further transmits configuration details to one or more of the determined physical resources to implement the replication infrastructure within the target site according to the selected protection service plan.

  • Publication number: 20220019474
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to manage workload domains in virtual server racks are disclosed. An example apparatus includes processor circuitry to, in response to detecting that a number of available physical racks satisfies a threshold number of physical racks, apply a first resource allocation technique by reserving requested resources by exhausting first available resources of a first physical rack before using second available resources of a second physical rack; in response to detecting that the number of available physical racks does not satisfy the threshold number of physical racks, apply a second resource allocation technique by reserving the requested resources using a portion of the first available resources without exhausting the first available resources and using a portion of the second available resources without exhausting the second available resources; and execute one or more workload domains associated with a number of requested resources.

  • Patent number: 10855807
Abstract: A system and method for semi-automatic workload domain deployment in a computing environment uses a user host selection of at least one host computer for a workload domain to automatically recommend candidate host computers for the workload domain from available host computers using relative and absolute selection criteria. The relative selection criteria include criteria that are based on properties of any manually selected host computers, while the absolute selection criteria include criteria that are not based on properties of any manually selected host computers. Another user selection of at least one of the candidate host computers can then be made for the workload domain. The workload domain is deployed using the user host selections of the at least one hot computer and the at least one of the candidate host computers.

  • Patent number: 10509680
Abstract: Methods and apparatus to perform a workflow in a software defined data center are disclosed herein. An example software defined data center includes a first workflow engine associated with a first processor to execute a workflow and to generate status information identifying the status of tasks included in the workflow and further includes a status tracker associated with a second processor. The status tracker collects and stores the status information. Additionally, the software defined data center includes a monitor to generate a signal when the first processor is no longer operational, and a second workflow engine associated with a third processor. The second workflow engine begins executing the workflow in response to the signal from the monitor based on status information collected and stored by the status tracker.

  • Patent number: 10339110
Abstract: Exemplary methods, apparatuses, and systems include a source site management server receiving, from first and second potential target site management servers, characteristics of the first and second potential target sites that affect replication of data from the source site to each potential target site. The source site management server receives selection of one or more criteria to be met in the selection of a target site for replication of data. The source site management server determines which potential target site is a better match for the received criteria based upon a comparison of the received criteria with the received characteristics of the target sites. The source site management server configures, automatically in response to the determination, the selected site as the target site for replication of data within the source site.

  • Patent number: 9372776
Abstract: The presently disclosed subject matter includes a device, system and method for monitoring activity at a computerized device, the device running one or more processes, at least one of the processes executing one or more system events being part of an activity. An activity of interest can be identified if system events related to the activity of interest are identified. An activity is monitored at the device using API queries to obtain descriptive information of the at least one respective system event executed as part of the activity. Using non-intrusive monitoring methods which are based on API queries enables to reduce the potential of interference of the monitoring with applications running on the monitored device.

  • Patent number: 8209672
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for transforming modeled business processes into executable processes. The modeled processes may comprise graphically modeled business processes. The executable processes may comprise processes suitable for execution by a computerized or software-based system. In one embodiment, transformation rules are provided for mapping or converting, for example, EPC model constructs to BPEL constructs. The transformation rules can be applied to graphical constructs in a modeled business process to generate an executable business process comprising an ordered sequence of programming constructs. The ordered sequence of programming constructs can be stored in a database for subsequent execution of the executable business process.

  • Patent number: 7382596
Abstract: The method and apparatus includes an uninterruptible power supply along with its rechargeable battery and a plurality of video protection circuits all within a common chassis. The video protection circuits are configured to protect the digital video recorder from surges introduced at the video cameras or cabling. The uninterruptible power supply is configured to provide power to the digital video recorder should a line voltage power failure occur and may also include a surge protector to further protect the digital video recorder from power line surges. Since all components are housed substantially within a common chassis, a method of isolating the video protection circuit and associated connectors from the radio frequency noise within the common chassis is described as well as a method and apparatus to allow removal and replacement of the video protection circuits should a power surge destroy them.
