    Abstract: A mobile terminal and method for performing handover, are discussed. According to an embodiment, the method includes calculating a distance value between a mobile terminal and each of a plurality of neighbor base stations based on power values of the plurality of neighbor base stations; and transmitting information of a specific neighbor base station corresponding to the shortest distance value among the calculated distance values, to a serving base station.
