  • Patent number: 9816779
Abstract: A smart holster system includes a holster and an electronic data storage device (EDSD) having authorized user identification information stored therein. The holster includes a holster body, a latch and a control system. The holster body forms a compartment having a latch receptacle, where the trigger area of a handgun stored in the compartment is disposed within the latch receptacle. A first portion of the latch is moveable between extended withdrawn positions with the latch first portion being disposed within the latch receptacle when it is in the extended position. The control system unlocks the holster when a control system EDSD reader detects the authorized user identification information stored in the EDSD, permitting movement of the latch first portion from the extended position to the withdrawn position.

  • Patent number: 9541344
Abstract: A firearm compensator assembly includes a compensator base that may be mounted to a barrel of a firearm, the base having a contact surface. A cylindrical-shaped compensator body has a bore, an axis, a sidewall, a contact surface, an outer surface and at least one gas discharge port extending through the sidewall between the bore and the outer surface. A spring exerts a biasing force urging the body contact surface into engagement with the base contact surface whereby the body is locked to the base. The gas discharge port is rotatable around the axis by urging the body contact surface away from the base contact surface against the biasing force of the spring.

  • Patent number: 6401379
Abstract: A handgun frame assembly includes a frame member composed of polymer material. A metallic, one-piece, front structural member has a transverse connector encased in the front end portion of the floor of the frame member and right and left rail segments extending laterally inward from the interior surfaces of right and left side walls of the frame member, respectively. A metallic, one-piece, rear structural member has a transverse connector encased in the rear end portion of the floor of the frame member and right and left rail segments extending laterally outward from the exterior surfaces of the right and left side walls, respectively. A slide is supported on the rail segments of the front and rear structural members for reciprocal sliding movement between battery and retired positions.

  • Patent number: 5794373
Abstract: A firearm having a frame and a slide supported for movement on the frame between battery and retired positions. The slide has an ejection port and a slot longitudinally extending from the ejection port for supporting a cartridge extractor such that upper and lower surfaces of the extractor are in sliding contact with a lower and upper surfaces of the slot, respectively. A recess in the upper surface of the extractor is in communication with a recess in the lower surface of the extractor via a passage extending therebetween. One of the recesses is in communication with the ejection port and the other recess is in communication with the exterior of the slide to provide a passageway for the transport of propellant combustion products from the interior of the slide to the exterior of the slide.

  • Patent number: 5678340
Abstract: A semi-automatic breech locking pistol having a frame and an operating slide supported for reciprocal movement on the frame between battery and retired positions. An extractor supported for limited pivotal and lateral movement relative to the slide cooperates with an ejector mounted in fixed position on the frame. An abutment on the slide limits pivotal movement of the extractor to positively secure the extractor in engagement with the rim of an associated cartridge within the cannelure of the cartridge during the extracting portion of the pistol operating cycle. The extractor is free to move laterally of the operating slide when the breech is closed on a chambered cartridge to enable the extractor to engage and grip the rim of the chambered cartridge.

  • Patent number: 5415075
Abstract: A firearm having a moveable breech locking barrel supported on a receiver by an offset barrel cam lug which cooperates with a wall of the receiver to provide space between the lug and the receiver wall to receive therebetween portions of a trigger and an associated trigger bar when the barrel moves to an unlocked position.

  • Patent number: 5412894
Abstract: An inertia striker assembly including a striker and a U-shaped spacer straddling the striker, both the striker and the spacer being free to slide axially and independently within a cylindrical bore in a slide body. The U-shaped spacer transfers energy from a striker spring to the striker to propel the striker from a cocked position toward a firing position. Movement of the U-shaped spacer is arrested by engagement of the spacer with an abutment surface within the bore allowing the striker to complete its travel to the firing position under its own inertia.
