  • Patent number: 7079128
Abstract: A display mode auto-setting method for a monitor displaying a video signal received from a video card includes reading a display information provided in the monitor, reading a plurality of display modes from the video card, selecting one of the display modes equal to the display information by comparing the display information with the display modes, and outputting the video signal based on the selected display mode to the monitor. A system for automatically setting a display mode of a monitor, in which the monitor is optimized, automatically selects the display mode most approximate to optimum display information of the monitor among the display modes supported by the video card.

  • Patent number: 6781574
Abstract: An apparatus and method for preventing poor operation of a key due to chattering noise are provided. The apparatus includes a control button section for generating a key signal to control a display monitor, and a microcomputer which contains a control program for preventing poor operation of a key due to chattering noise in the key signal generated by the control button section. The microcomputer detects the key signal when the chattering noise is generated, determines whether the key signal is in a normal state or not, and processes the key signal. When the chattering noise is generated in a tactile switch of the control button section of the display monitor, the AD port of the microcomputer detects it, and determines whether or not the key operates normally, thereby preventing poor operation of the key due to the chattering noise.

  • Patent number: 6750857
Abstract: A method for controlling a data set-up system in a display device comprises the steps of: maintaining an off-mode when electric power is supplied to the display device in order to store operation mode data in a memory; reading out predetermined identification information indicating a storage state of the operation mode data in the memory in the off-mode; comparing reference identification information, indicating a storage state of the operation mode data stored in a microcomputer in which the display device is normally operated, with the identification information in the off-mode data; and controlling operation of the display device according to a result of the latter comparison. With the above method, and with a data set-up system performing functions corresponding to the above steps, breakdown of a circuit due to damage in operation mode data is prevented.

  • Patent number: 5943228
Abstract: A method for switching the power to a display monitor with a remote controller includes the steps of: (a) selecting a power-on/off switch of the display monitor by means of the remote controller; (b) checking whether the power to the display monitor before activation of a remote control to select the power-on/off switch is "on" or "off"; (c) reading the power-on/off state of the display monitor from a memory according to the result of step (b); and (d) generating a power-on/off signal according to the power-on/off state read from the memory. An arrangement for switching the power to a display monitor carries out functions corresponding to the above steps.
