  • Patent number: 5554980
Abstract: A remote control system includes a remote control unit and a controlled unit. The remote control unit is moved in space, and includes a movement detector, selection switch and transmitter. The movement detector detects movement of the remote control unit. The transmitter transmits output of the movement detector and the selection switch. The controlled unit includes a display device, receiver, and controller. The display device includes a display screen, and displays a cursor and icons on the display screen. The receiver receives the output of the movement detector and the selection switch transmitted by the transmitter. The controller moves the cursor across the display screen in accordance with the output of the movement detector and the selection switch.

  • Patent number: 4564873
Abstract: A magnetic recording and reproducing apparatus including supply and take-up reel stand gears mounted coaxially with each axis of rotation of a supply reel stand and a take-up reel stand, an idler gear adapted to engage the two gears alternatively and interlocking with an output of a forward and reverse rotation driving mechanism, a head plate for supporting a magnetic head and capable of reciprocating so that the head approaches and separates from the tape, and a pinch roller for clamping a tape against a capstan shaft. The pinch roller is supported so that it can be freely brought close to or separated from the capstan shaft and the head plate is provided with an elastic member which urges the pinch roller close to the capstan shaft. When the head plate travels the head approaches the tape during a period in the middle of traveling to a traveling limit.

  • Patent number: 4423359
Abstract: An electric motor for a magnetic tape recorder comprises an electrically insulating disk-shaped stator with a plurality of flatwise coils, a rotary shaft rotatably extending through the stator, and a first disk-shaped rotor of soft iron with a multi-pole annular magnet and a second disk-shaped rotor of soft iron rotatably extending through the shaft on both sides of the stator. A pulley is fixed on the shaft below the first rotor to drive capstans, and a reel disc or a pinion is coaxially connected to the second rotor to drive a take-up reel for forward play. In a fast forward feed mode, the first and second rotors can be mechanically interlinked. Alternatively, an electromagnetic solenoid may be used to take out a torque from the first rotor by engaging an idle roller with a roller fixed to the rotary a shaft above the pinion or to apply a pressure to the second rotor to increase the friction between the second rotor and an adjacent shoulder on the shaft.
