    Abstract: Provided in an ink comprising a recording agent and a liquid medium capable of dissolving or dispersing the recording agent, wherein said ink comprises a triol selected from the group consisting of the following (a) to (c):(a) a straight-chain triol having 5 carbon atoms;(b) a compound of the formula ##STR1## wherein any three of A.sub.1 to A.sub.5 each represent a hydroxyl group, and the remaining two each represent a hydrogen atom, or a branched triol having 6 carbon atoms; and(c) a triol having 7 or more carbon atoms.
