Publication number: 20110169916Abstract: A method of producing and a display apparatus for a three-dimensional or two-dimensional image is presented. First unit pixel data and second unit pixel data are generated from an input image. The first unit pixel data and the second unit pixel data are provided to first and second unit pixels to display first and second images, respectively. The first unit pixel has a wavelength range corresponding to a primary color that is different from a wavelength range of the second unit pixel corresponding to the primary color. When a stereoscopic image is displayed, the first image for a left eye and the second image for a right eye may be selectively provided to the left eye and the right eye of an observer although the first and second images are displayed at the same time. Thus, an afterimage may be prevented.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2010Publication date: July 14, 2011Applicant: SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS CO., LTD.Inventors: Kosei TANAHASHI, Jun-Seok LEE

Patent number: 7891951Abstract: A fan includes a rotatable center member that is centered relative to an axis of rotation of the fan. The fan includes a number of blades radially extending from the rotatable center member. Each blade may have one or more ribs extending therefrom non-parallel to the axis of rotation of the fan. Each blade may be may be flat in shape, except for the ribs extending therefrom, or it may have a cycloidal curvature that curves away from the direction in which the rotatable center member rotates. In addition to or in lieu of the ribs, each blade may have a side profile that is non-linear. The side profile may be a zigzag or a curvy shape. The side profile may have one or more notches pointed in a direction opposite that in which the rotatable center member rotates, or may have one or more holes extending through the blade.Type: GrantFiled: March 22, 2008Date of Patent: February 22, 2011Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventor: Kosei Tanahashi

Patent number: 6747619Abstract: In the method of quantitatively evaluating the front of screen quality of a screen to be checked, an image of the screen to be checked is captured. The image of the LCD panel is captured preferably in a state in which the screen to be checked of the LCD panel is on. The captured image is processed and evaluated preferably in accordance with a predetermined algorithm. In the present invention, a manual evaluation is not performed at all. Thus, the front of screen quality of the screen to be checked of the LCD panel or the like, for example, can be quantitatively evaluated.Type: GrantFiled: January 12, 2000Date of Patent: June 8, 2004Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventors: Kosei Tanahashi, Yumi Mori

Patent number: 6233785Abstract: Described is a torque hinge mechanism which includes a shaft and at least two ring like friction plates pressed against each other by a pressure and through which the shaft passes. A non-penetrating recess is formed on a friction surface of one of the ring like friction plates. The non-penetrating recess can be a closed type non-penetrating recess. A scatter of a lubricant can be prevented by using such friction plates. A wedge effect is increased by using such friction plates so that the torque hinge mechanism can be stably operated over a long period of time.Type: GrantFiled: June 10, 1999Date of Patent: May 22, 2001Assignee: International Business Machines CorporationInventor: Kosei Tanahashi
