  • Patent number: 9977281
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a liquid crystal display device having excellent color reproducibility. A liquid crystal display device of the present invention is a liquid crystal display device including a non-white light source, a rear polarizer, a liquid crystal layer, and a front-side polarizer in this order, in which a light conversion layer that converts a wavelength of light transmitted through the front-side polarizer is provided on a viewer side of the front-side polarizer.

  • Patent number: 6380996
Abstract: An optical compensatory sheet comprises an optically anisotropic layer formed of discotic liquid crystal molecules provided on a transparent substrate. The liquid crystal molecules are horizontally aligned in the optically anisotropic layer. An average inclined angle between discotic planes of the discotic liquid crystal molecules and a surface of the transparent substrate is less than 5°. The discotic liquid crystal molecules are fixed in the optically anisotropic layer while keeping the horizontal alignment.

  • Patent number: 5300407
Abstract: An image forming method is disclosed which comprises developing a silver halide photographic material with a developing solution containing an aromatic primary amine developing agent in the presence of an imidazo[1,2-b]pyrazole type coupler represented by the following general formula (I): ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group, an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group or an aryl group; R.sub.2 represents an alkoxy group, an aryloxy group or an amino group; R.sub.3 represents a hydrogen atom, an alkyl group or an aryl group; and X represents a hydrogen atom or a group capable of being released upon coupling with an oxidation product of an aromatic primary amine developing agent. The magenta coupler represented by general formula (I) is excellent in color reproducibility, sensitivity and color density.A silver halide color photographic material containing the magenta coupler is also disclosed.

  • Patent number: 5260181
Abstract: There is disclosed a cyan dye-forming coupler represented by formula (I) and a silver color photographic material containing same. ##STR1## wherein EWG represents an electron-attractive group having a Hammett substituent constant .sigma..sub.p value of 0.30 or more, R represents a substituent, l represents an integer of 0 to 2, X represents a hydrogen atom or a group capable of being released upon coupling reaction with the oxidized product of an aromatic primary amine derivative, R and EWG may bond together to form a ring, and when l is 2, two Rs may be the same or different or may bond together to form a ring.
