    Abstract: A socket for holding the writing ball of a ball point pen comprising an outer tubular member having a circular cross section and an inner tubular member having an elliptic or circular cross section, wherein an ink-conducting chamber or chambers are defined between the inner peripheral wall of the outer tubular member and the outer peripheral wall of the inner tubular member, thereby enabling ink to be conducted smoothly from an ink cartridge provided in the ball point pen through the chambers to the writing ball.
