Publication number: 20220311671Abstract: A processing system may obtain an intent comprising a desired network state for a telecommunication network, determine an existing network state, where the desired network state and the existing network state are defined in accordance with a graph representing the telecommunication network, where the graph includes objects and relationships between the plurality of objects, and where each of the objects includes one or more properties. The processing system may compose a strategy that includes a plurality of policies to obtain the desired network state from the existing network state, where each of the policies comprises an action that is to be implemented in the telecommunication network, where the composing comprises performing a state exploration process over the graph, and where each state transition of the process corresponds to one of the policies. The processing system may then implement the strategy to place the telecommunication network in the desired network state.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 6, 2022Publication date: September 29, 2022Inventors: Pramod Jamkhedkar, Muhammad Bilal Anwer, Rakesh Sinha, Bingzhe Liu, Kostas Oikonomou, Vijay Gopalakrishnan

Patent number: 8010694Abstract: Network performability characteristics with improved accuracy are derived by taking into account, in the various analyzed network failure states, attributes of elements at the logical level other than just the capacities of edges, as well as by taking into account one or more “abstract components,” such as scheduled maintenance, and by using multiple traffic matrices.Type: GrantFiled: March 13, 2008Date of Patent: August 30, 2011Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property II, L.P.Inventors: Robert Duncan Doverspike, Kostas Oikonomou, Rakesh K. Publication number: 20090252033Abstract: Systems and methods to distribute media content are provided. A particular method includes receiving first link weighting factors and second link weighting factors at a router of a node of a multicast network and determining a primary path to a next hop node based on the first link weighting factors. Additionally, the method includes determining a backup path from a router of the primary path to the next hop node based on the second link weighting factors. The backup path does not overlap any primary path between two nodes of the network. Further, the method includes receiving a data packet from a parent node and routing a copy of the data packet from the router to the next hop node via the backup path, when a network link related to the router has failed. The method also includes routing data packets via a re-configured multicast tree that excludes the failed link.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 8, 2008Publication date: October 8, 2009Applicant: AT&T Knowledge Ventures, L.P.Inventors: Kadangode Ramakrishnan, Robert Duncan Doverspike, Guangzhi Li, Dongmei Wang, Kostas Oikonomou

Patent number: 7567511Abstract: A method and apparatus is disclosed wherein a cost of bandwidth usage in a virtual private network is calculated as a function of a plurality of traffic matrices associated with said bandwidth. In a first embodiment, the cost is calculated as a function of the maximum number of channels required to support an upper bound of the bandwidth of all connections originating from at least one node in the network. In accordance with another embodiment, the cost of providing service is calculated as a function of a traffic matrix in said plurality of traffic matrices, said traffic matrix requiring the highest possible bandwidth use of all traffic matrices in said plurality of traffic matrices. Finally, in accordance with a third embodiment, said cost is calculated as a function of the most-likely amount of bandwidth used by a customer.Type: GrantFiled: May 10, 2006Date of Patent: July 28, 2009Assignee: AT&T Intellectual Property II, L.P.Inventors: Kostas Oikonomou, Rakesh K.
