  • Patent number: 11237770
Abstract: A protocol chip stores requests from a computer in a port queue, on the basis of an index indicating a slot of the port queue which allows subsequent storing. MPs each hold a CI of the slot having undergone a preceding search of the port queue by the MP, search this port queue from the slot that the pointer indicates, search for a request addressed to a logical device to which the MP corresponds, and store this request in a virtual queue corresponding to the logical device, to process the request.

  • Patent number: 8799534
Abstract: Proposed are a storage apparatus and controlling method to prevent deterioration in the response performance of the whole system effectively. A storage apparatus provides a host computer with one or more storage areas for reading and writing data to the corresponding storage areas based on commands from the host computer. The number of receivable commands from the host computer is managed according to preconfigured management modes for managing the number of receivable commands. The management modes comprise at least one management mode among a first management mode for managing the number of receivable commands for each of the storage areas, a second management mode for managing the number of receivable commands in host group units which are sets of one or more of the host computers, and a third management mode for managing the number of receivable commands in identification information units assigned to the logged on host computers.

  • Publication number: 20140160591
Abstract: A storage apparatus has a first storage device in which the user data is stored and a second storage device which the management information including a primary hash value corresponding to the data management unit including a user data is stored for every data management unit. The storage apparatus (A) receives a read request, acquires a primary hash value of a first management unit which is a data management unit including read target user data from the second storage device, (B) reads data of the first management unit from the first storage device, (C) computes the primary hash value based on the data of the data management unit which is read, (D) determines whether the primary hash value in (A), and the primary hash value in (C) are in agreement, and (E) sends the read target user data to a upper level apparatus when the agreement is obtained.

  • Patent number: 8713279
Abstract: In a storage system, an operator makes an input only of minimum-required information, and when an LU setting command including the information is accepted, in response to the LU setting command, any internal process is executed using configuration management information about an LU and a plurality of physical storage devices. After completion of the internal process, the processing result is forwarded back. Herein, the configuration management information is about the LU and the physical storage devices, including information about a free area and a free capacity in a storage space of each of the physical storage devices, and information about the LU based on the storage spaces. The free area is an address area occupied by the free space not used as the LU. The free capacity is the capacity of the free space. Accordingly, an LU setting technology with a reduced level of the operator's load of work can be favorably provided.
