    Abstract: An image forming apparatus includes a network interface, an operation panel including a touch panel, and a controller. When a mobile input function is inactive, the controller starts providing it to a mobile terminal after receiving an access request. The function enables remote operation from the terminal. After starting the function, the controller sends display data to the terminal, receives operation data indicating accepted operations, and performs processing accordingly. When the function is inactive, the touch panel displays a local operation screen, and the controller responds to local operations. If an operation is accepted while the local operation screen is not displayed, the controller displays it, then switches to a standby screen for mobile input after a period of inactivity exceeding a threshold time. After receiving termination data while the function is active, the controller ends the function and displays the standby screen without waiting for the threshold time.
