  • Patent number: 8127874
Abstract: When a time average of square values of charge-discharge current exceeds a predetermined reference value and when a state of charge of a battery is higher than a preset reference level, the procedure corrects a basic input limit set according to a battery temperature and the state of charge and sets the corrected basic input limit to an effective input limit. When the state of charge is lower than a preset reference level, the procedure of the invention corrects a basic output limit set according to the battery temperature and the state of charge and sets the corrected basic output limit to an effective output limit. This arrangement more adequately sets the effective input limit and the effective output limit, compared with a technique of simultaneously correcting the effective input limit and the effective output limit based on the temperature of the battery.

  • Publication number: 20090321163
Abstract: When a time average of square values of charge-discharge current Ib (square mean value Sqib) exceeds a predetermined reference value Sqref and when state of charge SOC of a battery is higher than a preset reference level SOCref1, the procedure of the invention corrects a basic input limit Wintmp set according to a battery temperature Tb and the state of charge SOC and sets the corrected basic input limit Wintmp to an effective input limit Win* (steps S140, S180, and S190). When the state of charge SOC is lower than a preset reference level SOCref2, the procedure of the invention corrects a basic output limit Wouttmp set according to the battery temperature Tb and the state of charge SOC and sets the corrected basic output limit Wouttmp to an effective output limit Wout* (steps S200 and S210).

  • Patent number: 6065436
Abstract: A device for controlling fuel injection into an internal combustion engine is disclosed. The device comprises an accumulator for supplying pressurized fuel to a fuel injection valve, a high-pressure pump for discharging fuel into the accumulator using the engine as a power source, and a low-pressure pump for discharging fuel into the high-pressure pump using a power source other than the engine. At the start of the engine, the fuel discharged from the low-pressure pump is substantially directly introduced into the accumulator through a pump chamber of the high-pressure pump. To elevate the pressure within the accumulator for a short period to a fuel pressure capable of injecting fuel at the start of the engine, an opening and closing valve is provided in a suction passage that communicates the discharge side of the low-pressure pump with the suction side of the high-pressure pump, and is maintained to be opened at the start of the engine.
