  • Patent number: 6983681
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a sliding member which can slide for a longer period of time even in a dry state. In the present invention, sliding layers 3 are provided on the surfaces of a base material 2, and the sliding layer 3 contains polybenzimidazole (PBI) and 1 to 70 vol % of a solid lubricant. Since PBI, which is a thermoplastic resin, has higher heat resistance and also has higher material strength than PAI, PI, and EP, which are the conventionally used thermosetting resins, the wear resistance and the anti-seizure property can be improved and a decrease in material strength caused by high-temperature atmosphere, heat generation at the time of sliding, etc. can be restrained. Furthermore, the initial conformability can be improved because of high elongation percentage. Also, since the sliding layer contains the solid lubricant, the coefficient of friction can be decreased, and hence the anti-seizure property can be enhanced.

  • Patent number: 6905246
Abstract: There is provided a double-sided sliding thrust bearing of a plate shape adapted to be in sliding contact with a counterpart on each of both faces of the thrust bearing, comprising a bearing structure provided with a plate-shaped base member having an anchor effect on each of both faces thereof, and a sliding layer having a thickness not less than 30 ?m on each of the faces of said base member which sliding layer is made of a thermosetting resin-containing material. By making the thickness of the sliding layer 10 not less than 30 ?m, it becomes possible for the thrust bearing 1 to slide shoes for a longer time even when being used in a dry state and the sliding layer 10 comes to be hardly peeled off from the base member 2 because of the anchor effect of the base member 2. Further, the mechanical strength and thermal conductivity of the thrust bearing 1 can be improved by the base member 2 located between the sliding layers 10.

  • Patent number: 6890594
Abstract: The invention provides a method of processing an inner surface of a bearing having a cylindrical shape which bearing includes a resin layer composed mainly of a synthetic resin as the inner surface, the method improving roughness of the inner surface and dimensional accuracy of an inner diameter of the bearing without cutting the inner surface. According to the method, the bearing is press-fitted into a jig and then the jig is mounted on a chuck. Next, a mandrel having a cylindrical bar shape is inserted into an inner diameter portion of the bearing and then the mandrel is heated by a heater up to 250° C., for example. The mandrel is expanded due to thermal expansion by the heating so that the inner surface, i.e., a surface of the resin layer is pressed by a press face of a peripheral surface of the mandrel.

  • Publication number: 20040180796
Abstract: An object of the present invention is to provide a sliding member which can slide for a longer period of time even in a dry state. In the present invention, the sliding member is provided with a sliding layer 3 containing 1 to 20 vol % of bismuth powder and/or bismuth alloy powder, 20 to 60 vol % of metal powder, and 1 to 20 vol % of a solid lubricant, the sum thereof being not more than 70 vol %, and the balance being a thermosetting resin. Therefore, a large quantity of metal powder and bismuth powder and/or bismuth alloy powder are mixed with the thermosetting resin in the sliding layer 3, so that the thermal conductivity in the sliding layer 3 is improved, and hence heat does not accumulate in a sliding layer portion, by which seizure can be prevented.

  • Publication number: 20040112695
Abstract: The invention provides a hydraulic shock absorber which can satisfy a demand of weight saving for a rod guide and can reduce a manufacturing cost. Since a rod guide is constituted by a press molded product formed by press molding a sheet member, and at least a sliding surface of the rod guide with respect to a piston rod is coated with a sliding synthetic resin layer, it is possible to achieve a widely weight saving in comparison with the case of using a metal sintered housing, it is possible to secure a sufficient rigidity in comparison with the case that an entire of the rod guide is formed by a synthetic resin for sliding, and it is possible to achieve a further weight saving in comparison with the structure in which a composite sliding member is pressed.

  • Publication number: 20040058828
Abstract: In prior art, the wear resistance and frictional properties of a sliding member are improved by adding bismuth, an alkaline earth metal salt or the like, but not lead, to a polytetrafluoroethylene used as a base resin, in view of the undesirable influences of lead on the environment. However, a further improved wear resistance at a high PV value has been desirable. In the present invention, a sliding member having excellent wear resistance and frictional properties even when used at a high PV value can be obtained by using a thermosetting resin as a base resin in a proportion of 50 to 80 vol % and adding thereto a PTFE with a molecular weight of 3,000,000 or more in a proportion of 10 to 40 vol % and bismuth and/or a bismuth alloy in a proportion of 1 to 20 vol %.

  • Patent number: 5810037
Abstract: There is disclosed an ultrasonic cleaning apparatus in which the amount of gas dissolved in a cleaning liquid in a cleaning vessel is reduced, thereby enabling a cleaning operation efficiently. The cleaning liquid stored in the cleaning vessel, cleans articles, immersed therein, by a cavitation phenomenon caused by an ultrasonic vibrator. The cleaning liquid is fed to a degassing vessel by a discharge pump through a discharge pipe, and is returned to the cleaning vessel by a supply pump through a supply pipe. Thus, the cleaning liquid is circulated between the two vessels. Gas, dissolved in the cleaning liquid in the degassing vessel, makes bubbles since the degassing vessel is kept to a vacuum, so that the cleaning liquid containing a reduced amount of dissolved gas is stored in the cleaning vessel. Therefore, bubbles are less produced by the ultrasonic vibrator, and the cleaning operation can be carried out efficiently.
