  • Patent number: 4315698
Abstract: A rotatable coupling sleeve is disclosed which is movable axially along its support with movement of a shifter fork engaged with the coupling sleeve. The coupling sleeve has its portion contacting with the shifter fork and covered wear-resistive material having high self-lubricating antiwear properties.

  • Patent number: 4304144
Abstract: A gear shift mechanism comprising a gear shift lever, a selector rod, at least two fork shafts providing respectively one forward speed and a reverse speed, the two fork shafts each having a recess receiving the selector rod, wherein each recess is defined by two side walls, the first wall of which on the leading side in the direction of axial movement of the corresponding fork shaft has a predetermined length and the second wall of which on the trailing side has a length smaller than the predetermined length.

  • Patent number: 4257509
Abstract: Two cooperatively arranged pistons and a spring interposed therebetween are arranged within the clutch, one of the pistons is formed as a simple and compact annular plate with flat parallel surfaces and the other formed with an annular recess for receiving the plate.

  • Patent number: 4200002
Abstract: A tooth formed on a brake pawl has, at a portion facing the outer peripheral surface of a brake gear coaxially mounted on the output shaft of the transmission, first and second inclined surfaces which are bounded by an intersectional line parallel to the axis of the output shaft. The inclination angle of each surface with respect to a tangent line passing through a point where the intersectional line is in contact with a circular path swept out by the outer peripheral surface of teeth formed on the brake gear is greater than zero degrees. With this, the brake pawl is pushed way from its engaged condition due to collisions between shoulder portions of the teeth and one of the first and second inclined surfaces above a predetermined vehicle speed.

  • Patent number: 4177886
Abstract: A positive parking brake for a vehicle with a transmission output shaft having a pair of gears rotatable thereon. A hub is fixed to the shaft between the gears and a clutch sleeve is axially slidably splined to the hub periphery whereby the sleeve and hub may be selectively coupled to the clutch teeth or either gear. A sleeve shifter fork has an opening therethrough whereby a braking pawl may be operated by a cam and spring device so as to extend through the fork opening to engage brake teeth on the sleeve periphery and brake the vehicle.

  • Patent number: 4159628
Abstract: A first ring member coaxially and firmly mounted on a circular open end of a first housing equipped with an impeller. A second ring member is coaxially mounted on a small diameter cylindrical section formed in a circular open end of a second housing which is firmly connected to an engine driven shaft, the circular open end of the second housing being further formed at the leading end portion thereof with a large diameter cylindrical section which is snugly disposed in the circular open end. An O-ring is sealingly disposed between the large diameter cylindrical section and the circular open end of the first housing. Fastening bolts are passed through aligned holes formed in the first and second ring members to combine the first and second housings.

  • Patent number: 4158404
Abstract: In an automotive power train including a manually shifted power transmission system and an automatically operated clutch unit, the clutch unit is operated by electric actuating means which is controlled by means of an electric switch apparatus which includes first and second switch means responsive to a manipulative force applied to the manually operated transmission gearshift lever, and third to fifth switch means responsive to the movement of the transmission gearshift lever toward the various gear positions of the lever and arranged to be selectively open and closed in accordance with predetermined schedules.

  • Patent number: 4154325
Abstract: An annular disc spring interposed between inner and outer pistons and located in the inner piston, in a direction parallel with a clutch disk, in series with a wall surface through which the inner and outer pistons are in slidably fitted relationship to each other. The outer piston has a central circular aperture to cut off a central portion of the outer piston, and an inner portion of each of clutch housing, clutch hub and the inner piston which is offset in the direction of the axis of the clutch and away from the outer piston to form a cavity on the inner portion of the inner piston for accommodating an inner portion of a converter cover and an end of an output shaft of an engine.

  • Patent number: 4151902
Abstract: A brake pawl having a tooth engageable with brake gear means is mounted so as to be biased in a direction to disengage the tooth from the brake gear means. The brake pawl is formed at a side thereof opposite to another side facing the brake gear means with a first cam portion. A spring-loaded parking cam having at a portion engageable with the first cam portion a second cam portion is slidably mounted on a fork shaft which is parallel with the output shaft of the transmission. The axial movements of the fork shaft due to the movements of a manually operated shift lever cause the engagement and disengagement of the second cam portion with and from the first cam portion to accomplish locking and unlocking of the output shaft.
