  • Patent number: 11582628
Abstract: During operation, an access point may determine, based at least in part on communication with the electronic device, that an electronic device is in a communication performance category. In response, the access point may provide one or more requests to one or more neighboring access points of the access point, where a given request is for an assessment of communication performance of the electronic device from a perspective of a given neighboring access point. Next, the access point may receive one or more reports associated with one or more neighboring access points with one or more assessments of the communication performance of the electronic device. When the one or more assessments indicate that superior communication performance is unavailable, the access point may provide a notification to a computer that indicates that the electronic device is in a coverage hole in a WLAN.

  • Patent number: 11121953
Abstract: During operation, a computer may compare values of at least one performance metric for access points in appropriate contexts to determine one or more temporal anomalies and/or one or more spatial anomalies for one or more of the access points. Then, the computer may generate one or more temporal anomaly events based at least in part on the one or more temporal anomalies and one or more spatial anomaly events based at least in part on the one or more spatial anomalies. Next, the computer may calculate one or more complex events based at least in part on two or more of the different anomalies. Moreover, the computer may evaluate the different anomalies, anomaly event and/or complex events to determine one or more insights about a problem in the network. Furthermore, the computer may perform a remedial action.

  • Patent number: 8194570
Abstract: Configuration tool for virtual private network (VPN) topologies. In particular implementations, a method includes accessing a network topology configuration set comprising one or more route target groups (RTGs), wherein each RTG comprises a topology type identifier, one or more site identifiers, one or more role identifiers associated with each of the site identifiers, and one or more route target identifiers; generating one or more route target statements, based on the topology type identifier and role identifiers of one or more RTGs, defining the export or import of network layer reachability information between one or more routing nodes in a virtual private network (VPN) topology; and transmitting the one or more route target statements to one or more routing nodes.

  • Patent number: 7720009
Abstract: Various embodiments are disclosed relating to the identification of virtual private network (VPN) topologies. In an example embodiment, a plurality of edge routers associated with a network may be discovered, each edge router including one or more virtual routing and forwarding entities (VRFs). One or more route targets (RTs) associated with each of the VRFs may be determined, wherein corresponding RTs between two or more VRFs are associated with connectivity between the two or more VRFs via the network. The VRFs may be sorted into one or more groups based upon the corresponding RTs of the VRFs. A representative VRF (rVRF) may be identified for each of the one or more groups of VRFs. The rVRFs may be sorted into one or more VPNs and a topology for each VPN may be determined.
