Patent number: 8162386Abstract: A cab for a construction machine includes hinges that swingably mount the door to the wall. Each of the hinges includes a first member secured to a first cut-out portion of the wall, a second member secured to a second cut-out portion of the door, an interposed member interposed between the first and second members, and first and second pivot shafts pivotally respectively coupling the first and second members to the interposed member. The cab further includes first and second stoppers that regulate first and second angles of the interposed member with respect to the first and second members, respectively, and a bolt member arranged in the second stopper to move in its axial direction to adjust the second angle. An imaginary surface corresponding to an outermost part of each of the hinges is substantially coplanar with exterior surfaces of the wall and the door, when the door is closed.Type: GrantFiled: October 27, 2009Date of Patent: April 24, 2012Assignee: Komatsu Ltd.Inventors: Akihide Namura, Hirokazu Sugimoto, Koudou Tsuji

Patent number: 7770963Abstract: A cab structure for a construction machine that includes a plurality of pole members and can ensure the rigidity of the cab structure for a construction machine is provided. The cab structure unit includes the rear-right pole member that has a length that is shorter than other pole member (rear-left pole member) and does not reach the level of a floor panel (joint panel) so that the recessed space is formed in the rear side of the cab (10). The rear-right pole member is joined to the first rear panel portion and the plate-shaped member as a reinforcement member that reinforces a part from the lower end of the rear-right pole member to the height position of the floor panel.Type: GrantFiled: July 13, 2006Date of Patent: August 10, 2010Assignee: Komatsu Ltd.Inventors: Daisuke Tsukamoto, Koudou Tsuji

Patent number: 7581783Abstract: A cab for a construction machine is provided which is cost effective, good in strength as a cab, usable in narrow sites where an obstacle exists, and good in front visibility and design. The cab for a construction machine has left front, left rear, right front and right rear pillars 12, 13, 14, 15 which vertically extend. The left rear and right rear pillars 13, 15 are made of a pipe material, and the rear part of the cab has greater rigidity than the front part of the cab. The left front and right front pillars 12, 14 are respectively constituted by at least two press-molded parts which are respectively formed into a specified shape by press molding.Type: GrantFiled: September 9, 2004Date of Patent: September 1, 2009Assignee: Komatsu Ltd.Inventors: Tadashi Mori, Koudou Tsuji
