A first shell 12 and a second shell 22 are connected via connection portions 31, 33, 35 so that the first and second shells are folded, and when the first shell 12 and the second shell 22 are closed, the connection portions 31, 33, 35 are stored in an area surrounded by the first shell 12 and the second shell 22.

Abstract: It is required to provide a small-sized, easy-to-hold apparatus which facilitates a character input operation and a sentence editing operation by use of keys and in which a character input operation and a screen indication operation by use of a touch panel are stable. By arranging the keypad on the receiver side and the display screen on the microphone side, the key-in operation is facilitated and the range of choice is enlarged for the antenna layout designing. The main body of the cellular phone can be held to be wrapped by the hand, that is, the phone is configured not to be easily dropped. Due to the configuration, it cannot occur that operability is deteriorated for both of the keys and the touch panel.

Abstract: A joystick controller of the electrically non-contact type is provided with a pair of magnetosensitive elements having a magnetresistive effect. The magnetosensitive elements are placed fixedly on a stator member in a given relation at right angles to detect the rotary motion of a permanent magnet embedded in a rotor member movably supported by the stator member. Each of the magnetosensitive elements is supplied by a constant bias magnetic field generated by added magnets on the stator member to improve the sensing characteristics of the controller. In addition, a spring sheet member is assembled between surfaces of the rotor and stator members to afford appropriate feeling and handling for operation of the lever.
