Publication number: 20060026610Abstract: An optical disk apparatus includes a spindle motor for rotating the optical disk. The optical pickup device records or reproduces information into/from the optical disk, and a guide shaft 6 guides the optical pickup device in a radius direction of the optical disk. The optical disk is transferred by a disk tray 3. The disk tray and the optical pickup device 7 etc. are contained in a casing 1. A heat storage device 10, a phase of which is changed in an operating state of the optical disk apparatus, is arranged in a casing.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 27, 2005Publication date: February 2, 2006Applicant: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Keiji Sasao, Shigeo Ohashi, Ikuo Nishida, Hisahiro Miki, Kouhei Takita

Publication number: 20010055267Abstract: A disk magazine and disk changer device for holding multiple two-sided disk media wherein the magazine can be turned upside-down so as to allow both sides of the disk media to be utilized. In order to allow handling of two-sided disks, disk transport trays are provided above and below the disk media. A single disk transport tray operates to handle the disk medium above the given tray and below the given tray.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 27, 2001Publication date: December 27, 2001Applicant: HITACHI, LTD.Inventors: Kikuo Shimizu, Ikuo Nishida, Kouhei Takita

Patent number: 5982719Abstract: The speed of a disc handling operation by a disc apparatus having disc changer capability is significantly increased and, at the same time, the disc handling operation is performed with stability. In the disc apparatus according to this invention, a plurality of reproducing units loaded with discs are moved independently and disc reproduction is started by returning the reproducing units to their dedicated positions. Simultaneous returning of the plurality of reproducing units is prevented and each reproducing unit moves for refuge while reproducing the disc. This novel setup significantly shortens the time for moving the reproducing units for disc reproduction. When continuously reproducing a plurality of discs accommodated in proximity, the plurality of reproducing units are moved in a stacked state rather than independently. This also contributes to a significant reduction of the time in the disc handling operation.Type: GrantFiled: March 8, 1996Date of Patent: November 9, 1999Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Tatsumi Nishijima, Kyuichiro Nagai, Tomomi Okamoto, Ikuo Nishida, Kouhei Takita, Katsuyuki Tanaka, Takashi Takeuchi, Toshiyasu Sawano, Katsuhiko Izumi

Patent number: 5862119Abstract: In an auto-exchanger disc apparatus, both a disc cartridge for stocking plural discs and a pickup cartridge having a pickup are provided with common recesses, and a cartridge stocking unit is formed with a projection which is engaged with the recesses, whereby the cartridges can be exchanged for each other and mounted on the disc apparatus. Therefore, the extension and maintenance of the cartridges can be facilitated. When a double-side reproducing operation is performed, the pickup cartridge is turned upside down and then mounted on the disc apparatus, whereby the double-side reproduction can be surely performed by the disc inverting mechanism. Further, disc inclining means is provided to prevent a disc being returned from the disc feeder to the disc cartridge from abutting against the disc cartridge. The disc inclining mechanism and the disc inverting means may be integrally constructed by the same member to reduce the cost.Type: GrantFiled: June 14, 1996Date of Patent: January 19, 1999Assignee: Hitachi, Ltd.Inventors: Tatsumi Nishijima, Kyuichiro Nagai, Tomomi Okamoto, Ikuo Nishida, Kouhei Takita
