  • Patent number: 7536700
Abstract: A disc drive unit capable of preventing occurrence of errors in a recording system such as a CD or a DVD, using an optical head for recording data on a disc or reproducing data recorded on the disc. A disc tray is adapted to accommodate the disc, and load and unload the disc. A top cover is arranged above the disc. The top cover is formed therein with a concave and convex part for avoiding positioning a node of each of vibration modes (0, n) (where n=2, 3, 4) caused by a critical rotating speed of the disc, at a position right above the optical head.

  • Publication number: 20060026610
Abstract: An optical disk apparatus includes a spindle motor for rotating the optical disk. The optical pickup device records or reproduces information into/from the optical disk, and a guide shaft 6 guides the optical pickup device in a radius direction of the optical disk. The optical disk is transferred by a disk tray 3. The disk tray and the optical pickup device 7 etc. are contained in a casing 1. A heat storage device 10, a phase of which is changed in an operating state of the optical disk apparatus, is arranged in a casing.

  • Publication number: 20010055267
Abstract: A disk magazine and disk changer device for holding multiple two-sided disk media wherein the magazine can be turned upside-down so as to allow both sides of the disk media to be utilized. In order to allow handling of two-sided disks, disk transport trays are provided above and below the disk media. A single disk transport tray operates to handle the disk medium above the given tray and below the given tray.

  • Patent number: 5982719
Abstract: The speed of a disc handling operation by a disc apparatus having disc changer capability is significantly increased and, at the same time, the disc handling operation is performed with stability. In the disc apparatus according to this invention, a plurality of reproducing units loaded with discs are moved independently and disc reproduction is started by returning the reproducing units to their dedicated positions. Simultaneous returning of the plurality of reproducing units is prevented and each reproducing unit moves for refuge while reproducing the disc. This novel setup significantly shortens the time for moving the reproducing units for disc reproduction. When continuously reproducing a plurality of discs accommodated in proximity, the plurality of reproducing units are moved in a stacked state rather than independently. This also contributes to a significant reduction of the time in the disc handling operation.

  • Patent number: 5862119
Abstract: In an auto-exchanger disc apparatus, both a disc cartridge for stocking plural discs and a pickup cartridge having a pickup are provided with common recesses, and a cartridge stocking unit is formed with a projection which is engaged with the recesses, whereby the cartridges can be exchanged for each other and mounted on the disc apparatus. Therefore, the extension and maintenance of the cartridges can be facilitated. When a double-side reproducing operation is performed, the pickup cartridge is turned upside down and then mounted on the disc apparatus, whereby the double-side reproduction can be surely performed by the disc inverting mechanism. Further, disc inclining means is provided to prevent a disc being returned from the disc feeder to the disc cartridge from abutting against the disc cartridge. The disc inclining mechanism and the disc inverting means may be integrally constructed by the same member to reduce the cost.

  • Patent number: 4943874
Abstract: In a magnetic video tape recorder of the cassette type with a tape tension controller comprising a tension detection arm one end of which contacts with one surface of a magnetic tape drawn from the cassette in order to detect the change of the tension in the magnetic tape there is provided a pair of roller pins each is positioned at each side of the detection arm and contacts another surface of the magnetic tape. Since the magnetic tape is turned down with an acute angle at one end of the detecting area, the detecting arm can fully detect the change of the tension.
