  • Patent number: 4920803
Abstract: An ultrasonic microscope apparatus using cryogenic fluid as an ultarsonic propagating medium including a top loading space, in which specimen can be exchanged as the space kept airtight, and x-, y- and z-direction adjusting devices by means of which the relative position and the distance between the specimen and an acoustic lens can be adjusted under an airtight condition. The ultrasonic microscope apparatus also includes a vapor pressure adjusting device for adjusting the vapor pressure within a heat insulated vessel, in which the cryogenic fluid is contained, to prevent the cryogenic fluid from boiling.

  • Patent number: 4826319
Abstract: A coherent laser light flux is projected into a cell made of transparent quartz and light scattered from particles suspended in an antigen-antibody reaction liquid contained in the cell is detected by a photomultiplier by means of a collimator. An output electrical signal from the photomultiplier is sampled at different time instances and samplings are supplied to a fast Fourier transformer to derive a plurality of power spectrum desnities of fluctuation in intensity of the scattered light. A plurality of power spectrum densities are averaged to generate a mean power spectrum density. An amount of antigen contained in the reaction liquid is measured in accordance with the mean power spectrum density.

  • Patent number: 4706185
Abstract: An apparatus for displaying ultrasonic images picked-up by an ultrasonic microscope including a digital scan converter having three image memories for storing successively picked-up three ultrasonic images. The digital scan converter functions to reconstruct a color image from the three ultrasonic images by simultaneously reading ultrasonic image signals out of the image memories as red, green and blue color signals.

  • Patent number: 4683751
Abstract: In an ultrasonic microscope, if a plane to be observed of a sample is not parallel with a scanned plane formed by an ultrasonic wave beam, an interference with a reflected wave will be produced and no clear picture image will be obtained. Therefore, it is indispensable to adjust the inclination of the sample stand as an initial adjustment before the observation.

  • Patent number: 4530098
Abstract: A device for varying laser output including a source for generating a laser beam, at least one parallel flat plate having a transmissive characteristic for the laser beam and so arranged that the laser beam enters with the optical axis thereof at a Brewster's angle, a mechanism for rotating the plate about the optical axis, and a laser absorbing body for absorbing the laser beam reflected from the plate.

  • Patent number: 4503458
Abstract: In the disclosed color printer, a copy film is moved into contact with the surface of color inks in a color ink vessel having sets of three primary color ink cells arranged in two dimensions at pitches corresponding to color signals. A peforating device perforates the copy film at positions corresponding to color signals and representing the original picture. An arrangement supplies a sheet of copy paper over the copy film to copy the original picture through the perforations formed in the copy film.

  • Patent number: 4480636
Abstract: In an endoscope for displaying an image of an object on a monitor screen, a static induction transistor (SIT) image sensor having a number of light receiving elements is arranged at a light emitting side of an image guide bundle. In order to eliminate dead spots appearing in the displayed image due to broken fibers in the image guide bundle, pixel signals of light receiving elements corresponding to the dead spots are formed by interpolation with the aid of pixel signals derived from light receiving elements adjacent to the relevant light receiving elements to be interpolated. As an interpolation function, for example, an average of the pixel signals derived from the adjacent light receiving elements is used. The addresses of the light receiving elements corresponding to the dead spots are stored previously in a PROM during a manufacturing stage. In this manner, the interpolated image of the object having an excellent image quality can be displayed on the monitor.

  • Patent number: 4459986
Abstract: An amount of energy of an output laser beam emanating from a distal end of a flexible light guide is measured by arranging a partial reflecting mirror having a reflection factor of about 99% and a transmissivity of about 1% at the last rotating nod portion of the light guide nearest to the distal end. A heat sink is applied onto a rear surface of the partial reflecting mirror and a thermocouple is arranged in contact with the heat sink to measure a temperature of the heat sink. The output energy of the laser beam can be accurately measured from an output signal of the thermocouple without being affected by a variation of a transmissivity of the light guide.
