  • Publication number: 20080260442
Abstract: When an original document is placed on the lift tray, a timer is reset and starts counting a predetermined time (S12). Whether an alignment device is moved to adjust the original documents loaded on the lift tray in, for example, the widthwise direction transverse to the transportation direction is then determined (S13). If a change in the detected width of the original documents is detected (S13 returns Yes), control returns to S12 and the timer is reset and started again (S12). If there is no change in the detected width of the original documents in S13, control waits for the timer set in S12 to time out (S14). If the timer reaches the predetermined time set in S12 (S15 returns Yes), the lift tray is driven up by the lift motor (S16) and rises until the top limit sensor turns on (S17).

  • Publication number: 20040091883
Abstract: An area is estimated and displayed of a defective translated region of protein included in either one of a cDNA sequence originating from an immature mRNA, and a truncated cDNA and the like. By means of learning results using known mRNA sequence data, likelihood that there is either one of a translated region and untranslated region at each position in a nucleotide sequence is tested locally, and also a similarity analysis with the known proteins and genome sequences is executed upon whereby the results of the analysis thereabove is exhibited along the nucleotide sequence coordinate for simultaneous comparison.

  • Patent number: 6596991
Abstract: The analysis of isotopomers is conveniently performed using a double focusing high mass resolution magnetic mass spectrometer comprising an electric field and a magnetic field by a constant accelerating voltage slightly less than the accelerating voltage corresponding to the masses of the ions comprising the majority of a sample to be analyzed, and scanning part of an ion accelerating voltage so that it varies within a range effectively corresponding to the masses of the ions of isotopomers of the ions comprising the majority of the sample to be analyzed.

  • Publication number: 20020038185
Abstract: The present invention provides a method for graphically indicating a correspondence between cDNA and genome sequences having an exon-intron structure to be understood easily. From search results of the similarity between a cDNA and a genome, information on the base positions of both edges of similar subsequence pairs (exon), the similarity value thereof, etc. is extracted. From such information, information on subsequence pairs determined unlikely to be significant in view of the similarity value, base length, etc., is eliminated. Furthermore, the conformity of orientation and order between exons is examined, and only an exon covering the cDNA by not less than a qualified ratio and whose correspondence to the cDNA is clear is selected. The selected exon is indicated by a segment on a graph by locating a base position on the genome sequence to an axis 1 and a base position on the cDNA sequence to another axis of the graph, thereby confirming the intron-exon structure visually as a line of segments.

  • Patent number: 5974040
Abstract: There are provided a receiver and a transmitter-receiver in which an automatic gain control loop is promptly performed and even in the case of a modulated wave having information in its amplitude, wave distortion can be eliminated. A received signal is received by an antenna and is amplified by a power amplifier. The gain of the received signal is attenuated by a variable attenuator in accordance with an output voltage of a holding circuit. After the signal is converted to an intermediate-frequency signal and amplified through a common procedure and detected, a comparator compares an output signal of the detector and a reference voltage V.sub.ref, and obtains a signal indicating whether the output signal exceeds a reference voltage or a differential voltage therebetween. When the output signal or the differential voltage is brought to a positive level, a timing signal generating section generates a timing signal T.sub.m, and the holding circuit holds a detection signal.

  • Patent number: 5531950
Abstract: A method of manufacturing a casing for electronic apparatus use in which metal and resin are subjected to a hybrid formation, so that the mechanical strength of the casing is improved and the thickness is reduced so as to reduce the weight. An electronic apparatus casing having a rib (16) and boss (18) is manufactured when metal (10) and resin (12) are integrally formed. Adhesive (14) is coated on the metal, and after the coated adhesive has been dried, the resin (12) is injected onto the adhesive layer from a portion which composes the rib or boss, so that the metal and resin are subjected to a hybrid formation.
