  • Publication number: 20110019709
Abstract: The present invention provides a method of manufacturing a semiconductor device realizing improved yield. The semiconductor device includes: a substrate having a top face, an under face, and side faces; an optical function unit formed on the top face; a plurality of electrode pads formed on the under face; and a wiring formed on at least the side face and electrically connecting the optical function unit and at least one of the plurality of electrode pads.

  • Publication number: 20110007769
Abstract: A laser diode includes: a first multilayer film reflecting mirror, an active layer, and a second multilayer film reflecting mirror in this order; and a first oxide narrowing layer and a second oxide narrowing layer. The first oxide narrowing layer is formed close to the active layer, in comparison with the second oxide narrowing layer, includes a first unoxidized region in a middle region in a plane, and includes a first oxidized region on a periphery of the first unoxidized region. The second oxide narrowing layer includes, in a region facing the first unoxidized region, a second unoxidized region having a diameter smaller than that of the first unoxidized region, includes a third unoxidized region in a region not facing the first unoxidized region, and includes a second oxidized region on a periphery of the second unoxidized region and the third unoxidized region.

  • Patent number: 6105414
Abstract: A transfer feeder for a forging press includes a pair of parallel feed bars each having article-grasping claws, the feed bars being able to make a three-dimensional movement (i.e., an advance-return movement of the feed bars in a longitudinal direction, a clamping-unclamping movement of the feed bars in a widthwise direction, and a lift-down movement of the feed bars) so as to feed forging workpieces from one step of a pressing process to another. The transfer feeder further includes lift-down devices each for making a lift-down movement relative to a corresponding transfer frame through a lift-down linear-movement mechanism, advance-return devices each for making an advance-return movement relative to a lift-down frame of the associated lift-down device through an advance-return linear movement mechanism, and clamping-unclamping devices each for making a clamping-unclamping movement relative to an advance-return frame of the advance-return device through a clamping-unclamping linear-movement mechanism.

  • Patent number: 4531851
Abstract: In order to control the movement of a label web to be imprinted past the printing head of a thermal printer, or the like, the label web carries optically detectable marks at predetermined intervals therealong. The label web is comprised of label pieces adhesively secured to an underlying supporting web. An optical sensor for detecting the marks on the label web is disposed on a label holding member which is hinged to a supporting base, so that the label web is fed past the supporting base and is pressed thereagainst by the label holding member. Holes located on the supporting base at opposite sides of the label web help remove any adhesive material that is emitted from the sides of the label web. The support base has guiding lands for guiding the movement of the label web. The operation of the printer and of the label feed device is controlled by the optically sensed marks on the web.

  • Patent number: 4507666
Abstract: A thermal head supporting mechanism for use on a thermal printer is disclosed. A thermal head cooperates with a platen supported on the body of the printer. A head frame hinged to the body of the printer supports the thermal head through a plurality of leaf springs connecting the head frame and the thermal head for enabling the thermal head to tilt with respect to the head frame. A pair of adjustment screws in the head frame operates through pressure springs upon the thermal head and adjustment of the screws adjusts the pressure of the thermal head and its parallel relationship with the platen. A control lever hinged to the body of the printer includes recesses which permit the head frame to be moved toward and away from the platen. An auxiliary roller is carried on the head frame by leaf springs and the auxiliary roller presses a printing medium against the platen.

  • Patent number: 4466625
Abstract: A vehicle level controller produces a level lowering command signal whenever the sprung mass of a road vehicle is higher than a given trim band and produces a level raising command signal when the sprung mass is below the trim band. The command signal is applied to a levelling system. The trim band is divided into a high (medium high) and low (medium low) regions. A vehicle level detector produces a signal which distinguishes a vehicle level in four different zones including a range higher than the trim band, a medium high region within the trim band, a medium low region within the trim band and a range lower than the trim band. The level lowering and the level raising command signal are withdrawn whenever a signal from the level detector indicates the medium low and high region within the trim band, respectively.
