  • Publication number: 20130038718
Abstract: An imaging device includes a separability calculating portion for calculating a separability of a frame image by filtering the frame image containing a ball image elliptically deformed using an ellipse separability filter having an inside region and an outside region located outside of the inside region, an estimating portion for estimating a set of a center position, major axis, minor axis and inclination angle of the inside region, the set resulting in a maximum separability by changing the center position, major axis, minor axis and inclination angle of the inside region, as a set of a center position, major axis, minor axis and inclination angle of the ball image, and a speed calculating portion for calculating a speed of the ball based on a difference between the center positions of the ball images estimated by the estimating portion, a number of frames between the frame images and a frame rate.

  • Publication number: 20120249823
Abstract: A reconstructed image with less noise is reconstructed from a lens array image. An image reconstructing device acquires the lens array image formed by a lens array comprising an array of multiple sub-lenses for an optical image of an object formed by a main lens. The image reconstructing device comprises an interpolation part interpolating a third sub-image formed by a third sub-lens based on the first sub-image and the second sub-image constituting the acquired lens array image, wherein the third sub-lens is positioned between the first sub-lens forming the first sub-image and the second sub-lens forming the second sub-image. The image reconstructing device comprises a reconstructing part reconstructing an image of the object formed by the main lens focused on a point at a given distance from the interpolated third sub-image, the first sub-image and the second sub-image.

  • Publication number: 20120249593
Abstract: An image capturing apparatus 1 includes an image obtaining section 51, a difference image generating section 54, an enhanced image generating section 55, a Hough transform section 562, and a position identifying section 153. The image obtaining section 51 obtains a plurality of image data where subject motion is captured continuously. The difference image generating section 54 generates difference image data between a plurality of image data temporally adjacent to each other, from the plurality of image data obtained by the image obtaining section 51. The enhanced image generating section 55 generates image data for identifying the subject motion, from the difference image data generated by the first difference image generating section. The position identifying section 153 identifies a change point of the subject motion, based on the image data generated by the enhanced image generating section 55.

  • Publication number: 20120242855
Abstract: Noise that occurs when a reconstituted image is generated from a light field image captured by a plenoptic camera is reduced. A light field image acquisition section 71 acquires data of a light field image formed of an aggregation of plural sub-images respectively generated by plural microlenses 32-i, which data is obtained as a result of imaging by an imaging device 1. An interpolated light field image generation section 75 generates data of one or more interpolated light field images formed of aggregations of plural imaginary sub-images. A reconstituted image generation section 76 uses the data of the light field image and the data of the one or more interpolated light field images to generate data of a reconstituted image.

  • Publication number: 20120243101
Abstract: The noise occurring is made to decrease in a case of a reconstructed image being generated from a lightfield image captured by way of a plenoptic camera. An image capturing device 1 is equipped with a main lens 31, a micro-lens array 32 having a plurality of micro-lenses 32-i, and an imaging element 33. Each edge of the micro-lens 32-i in the micro-lens array 32 is systematically disposed to continuously repeat, so as to be in line contact with an edge of another micro-lens 32-i. An aperture shape of the main lens 31 has substantially the same shape as a shape of the micro-lens 32-i. The ratios of the length of each edge of the plurality of micro-lenses 32-i to a focal distance are substantially the same.
