  • Patent number: 6174456
Abstract: The present invention provides liquid crystalline compounds having compatibility with the other liquid crystal materials and excellent stability, and having low viscosity and high transition temperature of the isotropic phase, liquid crystal compositions containing at least one kind of the liquid crystalline compounds, and liquid crystal display devices constituted by using the liquid crystal compositions. The liquid crystalline compounds are represented by the following formula: R—A1—Z1—A2—Z2—A3—Z3—A4—(CH2)m.

  • Patent number: 5668936
Abstract: When data is sent from an arbitrary host interface out of a plurality of host interfaces for connecting a plurality of host apparatuses, the acceptance of the data is started, and the acceptance of data from the other host interfaces are inhibited. When it is judged that the acceptance of data corresponding to all pages sent has been terminated, a state where the acceptance of the data from the other host interfaces (from which data are inhibited from being accepted) is being inhibited is released. Consequently, even when data are simultaneously sent from two or more host apparatuses to a printer, it is possible to normally print out the data.

  • Patent number: 5590303
Abstract: A memory designation control device having a rewriting program for rewriting the contents of a first memory device storing a basic program stored in a second memory device different from the first memory device. When the system power supply is turned on when a normal processing mode is selected, only the first memory device out of the first memory device and the second memory device is brought into a selectable state. Consequently, in the normal processing mode, normal processing is executed on the basis of the basic program. When the system power supply is turned on when a rewrite processing mode is selected, only the second memory device out of the first memory device and the second memory device is brought into a selectable state at the time of a read instruction, while only the first memory device out of the first memory device and the second memory device is brought into a selectable state at the time of a write instruction.

  • Patent number: 5471562
Abstract: A source data latch circuit for latching data which are read-in from a DRAM is provided. A data latch circuit for latching one-byte data generated by a CPU and an overflowing bit storing circuit for storing overflowing data through a three-bit shift are provided. At a composing circuit, data latched by the latch circuit at a previous time and stored in the overflowing bit storing circuit and the present data latched by the latch circuit are composed. At an OR circuit, the composed data and data with respect to which an OR is obtained are written into RAM.

  • Patent number: 5287020
Abstract: A Centronics type interface comprising a switching circuit selectively outputting one of two input signals having a timing relationship such that only during the time one input signal is active, the other input signal is active according to the state of a select signal, a pulse generating circuit outputting a signal for a predetermined time from the rising edge of a signal outputted from the switching circuit, and a signal selecting circuit outputting one of the other input signals and a signal outputted from the pulse generating circuit, which can hold one input signal and the signal outputted from the signal selecting circuit in a desired timing relationship.

  • Patent number: 4964983
Abstract: A reservoir used in an automotive power steering system is provided with a first filter disposed within a reservoir body at a location between an inlet and an outlet thereof. The reservoir is further provided with a first guide member for forcing the oil flowed into through the inlet to flow toward the first filter by changing the flow direction of the oil and a second guide member for forcing the oil passed through the first filter to flow toward the outlet by changing the flow direction of the oil. The first guide member is provided with an opening, and a second filter whose mesh is finer than that of the first filter is attached to the opening so as to allow the oil to flow from the inlet to the inside space above the first filter through the second filter. On the other hand, the second guide member is formed with a second opening for allowing the oil passed through the first filter to flow toward the outlet through the second opening.

  • Patent number: 4953102
Abstract: A method for producing character patterns by planting a bit pattern of a specified character into a bit map memory. The character-bit pattern corresponding to each specified character is read out of a storage region in a font memory. The storage region is composed of a plurality of regions each of which stores the smallest possible character-bits for the individual pattern to be planted.
